Some of the above would appear belligerent. Yes we're a poor team with one victory in the competition since it's inception in 1872 or thereabouts but some would hope for something more favorable than what is presented. We may start as favorites for the third round event next year but the opposition have themselves a very good opportunity to cause something of an "upset or "surprise" when the time arises.
Not only that (but) primary focus will be on the league itself. Getting out the hole we dug ourselves when Hurst came in will take priority over any external duties or endeavors. Say again if the opposition have themselves a victory, it won't arrive as no substantial news or surprise.
I’d want 5000/1 before even wasting a £1

Re: FA CUP DRAW
Between 100, 125 - 1 would be good enough. Keep in mind we're a second tier side (albeit for the time being) and you got the expectations of a new manager that neutrals would observe. Many won't be aware that we haven't featured in the last eight since 1993 but the early exits in near each and every round in recent time would become more prominent.Charnwood wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 12:18 pmsaint jude wrote: ↑Thu Dec 06, 2018 12:20 am200 / 1 to win competition outright - William Hill.

Won't be no shame in going out in a few weeks. I think a considerable number will have expected it should it come to pass. Beaten by an opposition who's most talked about claim to fame was featuring in a milk commercial would constitute either humor or ridicule. Depends how you view it when the time arises.

Re: FA CUP DRAW
I wont be happy if we get knocked out in the 3rd round again, and I don't think many on here will be to chuffed either. As for winning it........not going to happen at what ever odds you want to put on it!!saint jude wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 2:53 pmBetween 100, 125 - 1 would be good enough. Re: FA CUP DRAW
I think 8 consecutive seasons going out of the FA Cup in the 3rd Round is more than enough. Let’s hope Paul Lambert is serious when he says he plans to put out a strong side to restore some pride in our Club and help improve confidence. At the moment any win would be welcome.

Re: FA CUP DRAW
If I was a betting man I wouldn't be putting my money on Ipswich, this is the worst form we've had in living memory & we haven't won an FA cup game in nearly a decade,Thought I'd cheer us all up lol.

Re: FA CUP DRAW
Like the current situation in parliament regarding Brexit, agreement on whether we should go to this game or not can't be reached.
1) Daughter wants to go
2) Me wants to stay at home in the warm
3) Wife can't make her mind up either way (bloody typical)
Think it might be looking like a people's vote!

Re: FA CUP DRAW
Think it's in Cheshire or thereabouts but not going to bother to verify. North-West is good enough. That area of vicinity.
Read somewhere some weeks back that replays are to be abolished. Could be this season in fact. You know, they want to eradicate second games and settle things at the first attempt. Can see the thinking behind it, anything to simplify things, but not sure this has been implemented as yet or will occur (should the need for a second game arise)
(Furthermore) Can you imagine what kind of attendance would be at Portman Road for a potential replay against this opposition. Seriously, you'd be looking at maybe 5 or 6 thousand in truth.

Re: FA CUP DRAW
Quite possibly very true indeed. And the opposition would only bring one fan. That long time loyal supporter.saint jude wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 11:05 pmCan you imagine what kind of attendance would be at Portman Road for a potential replay against this opposition. Re: FA CUP DRAW
Given our years of FA Cup failure and current dilemma I would respectfully suggest a replay would be a major achievement!
