I maybe wrong but I think more than 27,000 have already been sold. With a week to go since that figure was mentioned it could reach 29k.

Ipswich Town have issued a ticket update ahead of Saturday’s mouth-watering home clash with Portsmouth at Portman Road.
The game is the first of Ipswich’s ‘Pack out Portman Road’ campaign, with around 27,000 having already bought tickets for a game which sees second-placed Town face third-placed Portsmouth.
Portman Road’s official capacity currently stands at 29.673, meaning around 2,500 seats could potentially remain available

A lot of people want to go ( usually with someone else), but there’s only single seating left around the stadium left, so they presumably can’t sell single tickets.
I reckon we could hit just under 28k, which is amazing for a division 3 level game!
If we get back into the Championship, I can see Gamechanger replacing the old Cobbold stand with a larger stand and “ filling in the corners”, possible taking capacity to 35/40k I don’t think they have any intention of moving to a new purpose built stadium. I’m sure that was said just after the take over.

The Official Capacity at Portman Road is 29,673 making it the largest football stadium in East Anglia.
Covered Home Seats 26,243
Covered Away Seats 2,292
Uncovered Home Seats 863
Uncovered Away Seats. 275
Pompey have completely sold out the away allocation so it’s just down to how many empty seats there will be in the home section on Saturday.

So where have 548 seats gone? Does not make sense. Not because of the scoreboard or the the dugouts, so where? Sorry don't believe it.

Believe what you like but the capacity figures I posted earlier which add up to 29,673 are taken from ITFC Official Website. Surely our football club know how many seats they have in the ground and how many tickets they can sell. Maybe you should write to them and tell them you don’t believe them and perhaps they should have a recount.
To be fair to you Mendip the stadium was 30,311 and had been since the early 2000’s until very recently. However changes to the dugouts led to the removal of some seats and the work in the corner during the summer meant the removal of some seats in Lower Sir Alf Stand.
As a result of this the Official Capacity is 29,673. You just have to believe it cos that’s what it is.

Actually yes the dugouts and scoreboard have reduced capacity. Old capacity used to be 30,311 but then reduced to TV scaffolding tower at corner of SBR stand and Cobbold stand, they did remove seating that has not been used for years when upgrading the dug out seating. They also removed seating in the corner of Sir Alf Ramsay and Cobbold some time ago. Now of course altered for the score board. The other reasoning was for safety reasons
Picture of seating corded off before dugouts. Roughly counting 210 which have not been in used for sometime before altering for the new dugouts. Not official reasoning but it was mentioned the not using those seats because of unrest during Mick McCarthy's time

That's getting on to nearly half the number already been stated without then the TV stand and seating out for the scoreboard

Well I've done more digging and apparently the club has 274 w*nkers who follow the club, they decided so as not to upset other supporters to remove the seat either side of those 274 w*nkers, hence the loss of 548 seats.

Not sure where this 548 missing seat number came from.
Old capacity - new capacity 30,311 - 29673 = 638, therefore we must have at least 319 w*nkers sitting on there own.

Talking about PR capacity with a friend today , I wondered how much it would add to the capacity figure if they made the SBR lower all, safe standing? I reckon it’d add at least 3k what do others think?

Pity you weren’t as close with the injury time mins when I asked you how long . It was 7, not 11

you need a pair of these >>>
It was 11 on the board and they announced 11, only played 9 though.
