Not much of a career move especially if both teams are in the Championship which is highly likely.

You just never know with these things, but yes, if I was to bet, I would imagine this complete crap.
With promotion you'd have a team and club with excellent morale, you're settled there and most of the team should be comfortable at championship level. There is a hell of a lot going for the club at the moment and I think it would take an extremely attractive opportunity to interest McKenna. As your first job, and at the club that gave you such a huge opportunity, you'd also like to be seen to have a level of loyalty and commitment to a project, it doesn't make you attractive to employers if they feel you'll jump ship as soon as the grass looks greener elsewhere.

Saw this in the BBC comments on both the Ipswich and the Plymouth HYS comments last night. Same poster on both occasions.
Like all of our transfer dealings, there's no way that we'd know anything about this even if there was the slightest truth in the story.

He’d be crazy to even consider it, unless of course its triple dough or something crazy like that.

Re: McKenna has been approached by Forest ?
I’m fully expecting Town to offer KM a new snd very lucrative contract once the season ends. McKenna joined us because he is interested In
“ the project” Gamechanger are developing at this Club. He has significant financial backing and is being allowed to do it his way. If we get printed and no doubt Forest get relegated, how is a move to Forest remotely a “ step up”?
Whilst you can never say never in football, such is the ridiculous nature of this sport, I’d be extremely surprised if KM left Town right now, and if he did, it would be for FAR bigger club than Forest, who are certainly not bigger than Town. I would also say that in KM we have a truly remarkable manager and a human being who has certain values in life that are above many in this game.

Re: McKenna has been approached by Forest ?
I would quite expect McKenna to have some financial reward and contractual terms included in his contract linked to the Clubs promotion to the Championship.
As it is his current contract expires at the end of 2024/25 Season
I think 3yr contracts are pretty much the norm for Football Managers so there’s not much point reviewing it yet unless there’s an appetite to lock him in long term. Maybe make more sense to wait until later next season after we’ve seen how he performs in the Championship assuming of course it happens as we’re not there yet !

Out of curiosity, on average, how much more money does a club make on the Championship level than League 1?

Read somewhere championship clubs make around 8m from sky deals, not sure how much league 1 clubs get.

Re: McKenna has been approached by Forest ?
Its approx 2.5m TV money, so barely anything. From what I hear there is not much financial difference between the championship and league 1 if you take prize/tv money.
Clubs may earn more money due to charging more for tickets, getting more fans at games, better sponsors etc but its not night and day like the prem where each club gets 80-90m tv money, plus devent prize money etc.
I also beleve the financial fair play rules differ a little between leauge one and the Championship.

Re: McKenna has been approached by Forest ?
McKenna WILL be led away by another club name at one time or another, it's without question after what's he's done here in such short space of time. Sure as hell won't be Forest but the more distinguished names of the upper echelon will bide their time and move in. Must be plans already made someplace although guess no actual formal approach has been made to Ipswich Town Football Club at exact present time.
is it 100 per cent assured Mckenna will be manager at Portman Road in time for the first game of the Championship League in August. There's no way to determine it. There are no absolutes or guarantees in such a capacity. In all probability we'll hang on to the name for another year / season but there must be certain predators in the vicinity ready to make their move. He's a real prize at the moment but would it work out at / with another club name the success he has brought to this one.
