New kit released just now

Post by hallamblue » Sat Jul 01, 2023 8:37 am

Home shirt a major disappointment to me

Away kit , another classic and will be the more popular one I think

Yes I'm thinking the same I don't like the white on the sleeves but the away shirt looks good.

Don’t like them sorry! I’m really not keen on harking back to previous periods of success, this should be a NEW ERA and new things, new kits etc like the unique kit last year which is now iconic.

It’s not terrible just a bit dated looking. I was hoping for a green away kit - like the new Newcastle one.

I’m not a lot purchaser really, I have a shirt from season before last which I’ll wear it games but I’m too snobby to wear a shirt outside of a match.

It’s a good identifier I guess! I was on holiday recently and saw two town fans (separately) in shirts so stopped and chatted with them - which was nice as usually this forum and my dad are my only town conversations points.

If only the home kit was all blue, it would look so much better! Away kit is fine.

I'm just hoping I prefer it when I see it in person as generally I buy it every season

I can't stand collars or the white trim

Way I look at it is they are not going to please everybody all the time. For me its ok, nothing special at all, either of them. Not ghastly either just I prefer last seasons

Saying this, There is no way they can keep producing master class of kits like they did last seasons. I can live with these

The video has helped, I'm beginning to like the blue more now, it's just the change process, takes time.

The orange has always been a favourite of mine, the Greene King on my old one is looking a little faded now though.

Chances are I will probably get home and away, and the new training top when released. All adds up though and need to save up, best I go doing some extra chores during the school hols to earn some extra pocket money lol, those were the days eh.

I LOVE the training shirt , but not the stripe / band that goes across the back . Unfortunately it’s very much a “ boys” top with that type of design and don’t think it’d look quite right on a female. Shame coz I’d have bought it ….

Put a red lace in the blue home top —->> its the early 90s Fisons shirt.
The top, plain, would be decent….. Ed’s album covers across it will always be horrendous.
And old xchool for me; white should always be the away colours, black shorts.

Someone suggested green for away colours?
100% no on that one. Jeezo

Yes I've been looking at it all morning and I too am starting to warm to the Blue One, not my fav but I won't feel quite so uncomfortable wearing it what i originally thought, Orange is still and always will be a massive no no for me.

Agree on the Green is a No No No,

Always remember when Joe Royal taken over as manager. He said never have dark colours for away strips as some stadiums had poor floodlights, were harder to see teammates in dim lights. Realise that was then and most stadiums now have improved floodlights, just struck with me him saying that. If Remember rightly I think the away shirt then was Red, could be wrong

Must have been bought by Tractor Boys & Girls living in Spain. Inflation here only 1.9%. 👍

I really dislike the white on the shoulders of the home shirt and for that reason alone wouldn’t buy one, however worn by the players with white shorts and blue socks yesterday it looks better than expected.

The orange away shirt looks much better, I assume it goes with black shorts and orange socks, or is it all orange ?

It's all orange mate, think it looks better that way. Thing is are we maybe going to entice a couple of Dutch players in now? Would make them feel at home. If only we could get a couple of Frans and Arnold's in :-)

So come on all let's be honest, who has bought or ordered any of the new Kit? If I'm bring honest, if I have some spare cash soon I will have both. And if any have purchased, is the sizing same as last seasons kit?

I haven't bought anything yet no, certainly won't be buying anything Orange but as it is a custom I will get the Home shirt nearer the start of the season.

I see the fans that were interviewed at the game yesterday seemed to think the shirt was indeed better in person.

Grown men with beer bellys and X + - \ = across the front. 🤔
Not a good look.

At least with an alcohol reference, it can be the reason the belly is there.

I'm gonna appreciate that strip once I've seen it in action, in our 0-2 Sunday night season opener.
