Re: TownTV launched
Whats everybodies thoughts on this? I know it is early days but I am a little bit miffed paying £5.99 to watch interviews, ie Omari.
Do you have to subscribe £5.99 to be able to watch the live games at £10 per match or does it work on the same principle of iFollow?

Looks like you can buy a match ticket ( if you’re abroad
) for £10, and not have to subscribe £5.99 per month first ….

So much for getting excited and looking forward to watching every game next season. I can’t believe Town tv doesn’t appear to be available in Spain. Looks like I’ll be watching Forest next season instead. Not a happy bunny
Just praying this info isn’t correct.

I thought it would be more expensive, I was going to pay but when filling the form in it wouldn't take my Address here in Portugal, it wanted the state or something ? Plus putting my date of birth having to go back to 1946 one month at a time it seems, would take forever.
I have IPTV but have always paid for Ifollow to help support our club.

Lots of glitches coming out aren’t they …. Just hang in there , they have to sort this out.
Thought of feeding it back to the club? They’re normally responsive these days ….

Re: TownTV launched
Looks like they have cheesed off a fair few international fans, can you honestly see them changing their minds? I do not, this has been thought through, they have got to help fund the investment and wages, just think they should maybe have some kind of early bird incentive and prove its worth it then slowly increase the price.
I will still watch the games I can but not subscribing to a service I doubt I would use.

Re: TownTV launched
Using a vpn is not illegal . All it does is change
(mask?) your IP, and it allows you to piggyback an IP address anywhere you choose in the world. Sorry that’s as best as I can describe it .
People use VPN in life all the time to reduce the chances of cyber crime : if the bad guys can’t see your try IP address you’re that much safer when surfing the net etc.
But of course as a UK resident if we choose to mask our IP address to access sites in UK that are available only to those overseas, then that is a criminal offence. But most of the football fan base in the UK does it (so it seems)!
I think Town are being a bit cute here. They are fully aware that their fan base is tuning in to ifollow (5/7k of us!) …. So they’ve decided to build their own tv channel and cash in on it. I’m cynical do I will say that’s what they’re going lol…. Many, and certainly the club official line will be ….”its to bring the club closer to the fans”.

When I had a quick look at the application / registration form, the same thought did cross my mind tbh.
But when we signed into ifollow last season we had to give our details I’m sure ….

Ok, on the basis you can create as many email addresses as you want the answer is to log in to every opponents Ifollow account with a,different Email and watch the games that way.

Re: TownTV launched
THAT, is a very good point Mike…. But you’d still need a vpn …unless you’re talking about our overseas fans? Re vpn requirements. But yes Andy for example could simply register at each away club (did you see this Andy, and any other overseas Town fan!!)

Re: TownTV launched
It doesn’t Mike. It just hasn’t named Soain in the list of countries where it’s available. I’ll be ok for all away games through the opponents tv channel or ifollow but would rather support my own club. The only potential issue will be home games, which was never a problem with ifollow.
I’ll certainly find out within the next few days but with family visitors from afar and moving house just too much going on to spend time on it

Re: TownTV launched
Why don’t you register a uk address (family member?) then use a vpn to gain access for home games …. Would that be possible?

Re: TownTV launched
Charmwood just login and see if you have the option to purchase? I'm in Germany right now
and it's available, I can use my current UK itfc login and such so should've suitable for those of us who live in the UK but happen to be abroad during matches.
Yes it's expensive but I'm sure it's inline with other clubs TV channels. We have to be aware that the prices of everything will onlyq increase as the club moves forwards up the leagues and with better players etc.

I have tried to install the app on 3 tablets and 1 laptop and all have said the app is unavailable on each device, I got it on the mobile phone but I'm not going to pay £240 to just watch it on my phone unless it's possible to cast it to my TV, any ideas ?

Re: TownTV launched
Thanks Shabba, all registered and set up from my Spanish address. I’ve assumed my £20pm will allow me to watch every game home and away using Air Play to mirror the game from my iPhone to my Smart tv. I guess I can try it out for the last two friendly games and if it doesn’t work I can simply cancel it which will cost me just £20 for August.shabba wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 12:12 pmCharmwood just login and see if you have the option to purchase? If if does work I get 2 pre season friendlies and 5 matches in August for £20 which is a bargain.

Look up Air Play Liz. That assumes an Apple iPhone or iPad and a Smart tv. I assume it can be done using an android phone too although we’ve been sucked into having all Apple products and once they’ve got you hooked it’s hard to escape.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 3:42 pmAre you saying you can beam the game from your iPhone to your smart tv …. Re: TownTV launched
My only concern is that we complete the sale of our house here on 31 July and are immediately going on holiday for all of August so I’m not sure how or where I’m going to watch games.
My iPhone 11 certainly isn’t large enough and I didn’t really want to take either an ipad or MacBook, I can’t believe such crap planning.

There’s lots of different Air Play apps on the Apple shop so not quite sure if that matters?
