It would be nice but will the be ready for the PL after just 1 year in the Championship?? just chucking that thought out there. I really would love back to back promotions but WHEN we do go up I want us ready to stay there for a bloody long time! #coyb #itid

Agreed. Like Crystal Palace. I personally see them as “a wee club”, but seem to have the EPL sussed out…… years there and never really in relegation battles.
Play-offs would be a real bonus for ITFC but not sure annihilation's in season 24/25 will help Gamechangers long term vision. Could set the club back in reality.

Honestly think we can make the playoffs, but still think we need defensive reinforcements. Yes we had a lot of clean sheets, but Championship strikers won’t be as forgiving. I suppose I should be patient since we’ve waited more than 20 years for an uptick. Regardless, it’s nice proclaiming I’m an Ipswich fan without the resounding disclaimers of the past…always following up with, we ‘were’ one of the best teams in Europe in the early 1980s.

In keeping with the OP, this feature story certainly paints a very attractive picture of Ipswich and their potential this season.

For me, (and please, only opinion), I see articles like these as unnecessary pressure on Kieron McKenna and the lads. (Thats NOT aimed at you, Azzurro on here, defo not) …. Just about all these tips from the pundits.
Its been a tough 4 seasons in L1. Been a struggle really and only as far back as Bristol Rovers in Feb 2023. The manager and lads then dug deep after a few additions and did everyone proud. It was great and that day knowing SheffWed were out of it was memorable.
But……… its going to take that and a lot more to be battling at the top of this very tough league. I just feel that consolidating Championship status is the “less pressurised” way to go for the good of the team. Its going to be VERY difficult. Again, for me, I cant quite figure out what they are basing the top 2 predictions on.
But ——>> will be the first wearing the “Back in the Big Time” t-shirt.
No pressure Kieron ——>> DON’T GET RELEGATED!

It is that element of our fan base who need to read your post. Those, who if we end up with say 3 or less points from the first 3 games. They are the ones who worry me in truth.

Don’t know why the perception of us doing well in the Championship is a negative. I guess some fans are still not sold on where we are right now….probably the same fans who loved Mick. We may not get promoted, but we’ll be in the mix. Stop being pussies and get onboard!

It's not.
No one knows. A "championship" ball hasn't been kicked yet.
Maybe. Who knows?
Based on......., well, opinion?
Think everyone on this forum is onboard. For sure.

Oh, I'm so onboard! Just trying to be a teeny bit cautious. Back to back promotions would be amazing and I'd be the first one cracking open the fizz to celebrate!! #coybnumber 9 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 9:32 pmDon’t know why the perception of us doing well in the Championship is a negative. Althought it would be nice I doubt we would go up this season. I can see next season being the one we strive for promotion
