Hi all,
Suspect rotation is coming, who would your starting XI's be for each game?
Blackburn
Hladkey
Clarke
Woflie
Burges
Williams
Morsy
Lungo
Burns
Chaplin
Broadhead
Hirst
Wolves
Slicker
Ball (if JD still out)
Baggot
Edmunson
Tuanzabe
Evans
Humpreys
Hutchinson
Taylor
Harness
Ladapo/Scarlett
So ideally go as strong as possible for Sat, I think we will see Hutchinson but only via the bench and same for Taylor, then give them starts vs Wolves to further get minutes in them.
Clarke needs to be managhed IMO, as does Burns so we might so Burns drop out on Sat? Scarlett will also be looking for minutes but I'd imagine that is from the bench for now.
I'd say we have a nunber of players who we shouldn't be risking for starts every 2-3 days (Clarke, Masimo, Hirst, Burns, Broadhead).

Yes, we should field the strongest possible team for the Blackburn game - but IMHO the team you have selected is not the strongest available. I would pick Ladapo ahead of Hirst, and Hutchinson ahead of Burns.shabba wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 3:32 pmHi all,

I'd prefer Hirst over Ladapo any day of the week. Burns probably needs a rest, and after Hutchinson's display against Southamption I can see him taking the start.
Davis is training again, but I can't see him involved against Blackburn. I hope Luongo gets the start over Taylor, he's a better pairing with Morsy imho.

Agree. Ladapo is good against low block teams as he is great in the box, but he is no way near as mobile or target man-like as Hirst.
Hutchinson was superb when he came on today, he is special and getting better and better. I honestly think he will be starting (likely over burns) before long. He caused havoc today.

I’d have Williams in ahead of Clarke. He’s a much better player who just needs a run of games to get up to speed.
For me, Clark and Burns don’t work effectively as a defensive “ team”, because Burns is inconsistent in tracking back and when he has tracked back isn’t working with Clarke to prevent the cross coming into the box. However Williams / Hutch do work better both in attack and when defending. But I’m not sure Hutchinson would last a full 70-90 mins yet. Having said all that it wouldn’t surprise me to JD given a run out Tuesday night for part of the game. I don’t think Axel will be risked for another 2-3 weeks yet.

I thought Clarke looked very suspect defensively yesterday and may well have his place in jeopardy soon, I think Hutchinson will still be utilised as an impact sub , don't see Burns being dropped any time soon. Hladky may have let Three in but no blame attached, he pulled off some super saves, i hope he keeps his place as he more than deserves it.

Hladky v. Walton, yes agree, the choice isn't as simple as I thought.
Hladky is safer with the ball at his feet, Walton has a distressing tendency to have the odd brain fart when he's playing it out. Think Walton has the safer pair of hands though, Hladky parries some shots which Walton would be more likely to have hung on to. Walton for me probably edges it on distribution.
