FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
It looks like 29 of the 32 teams in the 4th Round will be either from the Premier League or Championship so the chances of an easy draw looks almost non existent.
If that’s the case let’s have one of the “Big Teams” at Portman Road. I’ll go for Arsenal or Liverpool.
What would be your ideal draw ?
The draw is live on ITV at 7.50pm on Monday night ahead of the Wigan v Manchester United game. Towns ball No is 11.
Ties in the fourth round will then be scheduled across the weekend of Saturday 27 January and successful teams will land £120,000 from the competition prize fund.

Spurs away for me as haven’t done the new ground. Wife wants Everton away if they win the replay as she has never been to Goodison and would like the opportunity to go there before they move to the new stadium. I have warned her she hasn’t missed much!
If we get a home draw then any of the big guns.

Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
I think I said in a previous round that I'd like to see Everton away! This will be the last chance for our wonderful travelling support to visit a stadium which is one of the grand old ladies of football. I think it would also be a stern test at about the right level for us! If it's going to be one of the big teams then please make it a home fixture!Shed on tour wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 9:49 amEverton away if they win the replay as she has never been to Goodison and would like the opportunity to go there before they move to the new stadium. Notwithstanding massive odds against - Maidstone at home……….. wobble head………..Liverpool. What chances of Our Feathered Friends at home (assuming they progress). Rumour has it there’s some high profile female supporter reckons we’re a good place to collect used Max Strength beer cans……..Happy Sunday, folks!

Maidstone at PR.
We give them a good day out, some cash for their coffers and a sound thrashing all in preparation for a home 5th round draw against one of the big boys!

Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
Similar to others - my preference would be
Norwich at home (assuming they ge through in their replay)
Spurs or Arsenal away (great away day)
As small a team as possible at home.
Otherwise I’m really not overly bothered as not much else appeals to me. Not interested in hosting Man City or such and getting spanked.

Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
More likely to be spanked by Man Utd than Man City (should it be one of those two) …… City with eyes on EPL & CL…….. Man Utd with eyes on, (a trophy) the FA Cup.
Thats a decent enough jinx for the Wigan game

Goodison Park is a ground I’ve only been to once to see Town lose 2-1 in an FA Cup Quarter Final in March 1980.
Bob Latchford and Brian Kidd scored for Everton. Kevin Beattie came off the bench to replace Johnny Wark and score a late goal. Always a long journey home when you lose.

I actually think we stand more chance of beating Man Utd than Everton at the moment.

Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
Big game today in Shrewsbury v Wrexham. Was at a Shrews v Wrexham game way back in the late 80s, early 90s. The club i played for were on a wee trip to play some teams in the general Shropshire area. Few of us tagged along to the Gay Meadow for the game. Was quite a feisty atmosphere. The travelling Wrexham support were proper nuts Great day out.

Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
When was the last time we made it through to the 5th round? (Not trying to jinx our chances by asking the question!). If we do draw one of the big boys, they will see us a potential banana skin - and quite rightly so.

Jeezo, jinxed poor Shrewsbury. That was the exact same result all those years ago.marko69 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 11:49 amBig game today in Shrewsbury v Wrexham. Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
thought we reached fifth round only maybe one or two years back. Would have been most likely under McKenna but seem to recall a longer than usual run in the competition. Must have been Round Four only, got to remember also we would have been starting out at Round One in a lower division, guess that's what made it seem longer. That Watford game back in 07, can still recall details from it. Thinking back now, being real disappointed at the end we didn't make it through and progress further. That's who we got Priskin from wasn't it although not sure, can't remember, what team he were involved with on that day. No last eight appearance since 1993, that's easy to figure out.
Just want a game next up that 's winnable for us. Don't want no grand day out at Old Trafford or Chelsea, just something we can take on and beat with something to spare. Best guess some reprobate will hand us a real tough one that just about puts an end to our interest but you have to live in hope. Promotion to the EPL and maybe final rounds of competition, hell that would be a magnificent return for all that we've put into it last 5, 6 months.

Re: FA Cup - 4th Round Draw
Maidstone at home It is, just what Todd66 requested.
Couldn’t have a better chance of progressing to the 5th Round.
4 all Premier League ties;
Chelsea v Aston Villa
Tottenham v Manchester City
Sheffield United v Brighton & Hove
Fulham v Newcastle United
