Hey 9 I can’t believe you can think we’ve already blown any chances of automatic promotion whilst we still have 14 games to play and 42 points to play for, and even more important are completely in touch with the two teams immediately above us.

Believe me there will still be a few twists and turns between now and 4 May and this promotion race is far from over.

It wasn’t even night time, where he is it would have been early afternoon. He should have been out playing golf or doing his weekly shopping. 🤔

He does have a point though. Based on current form of Leeds, Southampton, and ourselves, we definitely look the least likely of the 3 to achieve second spot.

Depends how far back you take "current form" though, we have 7 points from 9, Southampton have 6, it can all be manipulated, if Leicester lose to Leeds it would be nought from 6, is that the start of a slump ?

As I said on another thread out of the 4 teams challenging for the 2 automatic places I see us as the outsiders. Having said that, the one thing I’m sure of is that whoever the 2 clubs are that end going up automatically they will certainly have earned it as like last year in league 1 it is going to take a ridiculous high number of points to clinch a top 2 spot.
Who knows perhaps our experience from being involved in such a chase last season will work in our favour.

Saturdays never vary Liz, morning golf followed by lunch with a few small beers and home just before 4 ready for Towns kick off. Just hate lunch time kick offs as that screws up golf which comes second to footie unless it’s a big comp. I usually follow the town game with the Premier League late match and then cook dinner which is always my job on a Saturday night which is the one night of the week when we both hate going out. What a boring life I have but just love every minute of. 🥰

I see what you're saying, Mike - but in all fairness current form never was measured over as little as 3 games.

No it wasn't, but it could just be we are coming back into form at just the right time like last season, I certainly wouldn't write us off just yet although I do accept we are the dark horse which given the level of opposition we bloody well should be.

Have to laugh really. Not wishing to stereotype or offend anyone here, but Blokes generally won't be found near a kitchen doing meals, if they can help it. But stick email in the garden in front of a BBQ and all of a sudden they're cordon blue chefs, which always makes me laugh my sox off ...

I need to make sure my wife doesn’t read this stuff, she’s already suggested I cook two nights each week which I’ve resisted so far. She does Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, we eat out Wednesdays, Friday and Sunday and it’s my turn Saturday. That feels pretty fair to me and I couldn’t possibly cook after a golf afternoon ( Tues & Thurs) 🍻 🏌️‍♂️🍻

Anyway to get this thread back on track I’ve just read that Ipswich are currently on SIX POINTS MORE than this time last season when ITFC were in League One and we finished with 98 points. Surely we couldn’t do this two years running.

I’m curious to try the roast chicken in the air fryer. Can you PM me the directions?

I think we may be the outsiders for 2nd place but personally I think we have every chance. On paper we have a pretty manageable run in and if we beat Rotherham tomorrow we go level on points with Leeds having played the same number of games . They have Leicester to play next and I can't see Leicester not getting something out of the game ,having just lost at home to Middlesborough and I believe their last game of the season is against Southampton. On paper our only really tricky game is at home to Southampton who we have already beaten once this season. A win in that game and we could well pip both teams for that 2nd automatic spot.

I don’t think we are outsiders I think Southampton are given their fixtures outstanding compared to ours and Leeds United. We just need Leeds to drop points against Leeds on Friday night and if they do we’re then in total control of our own destiny rather than having to rely on others.

Just a week ago we were thinking it's the play offs but now it's in our own hands and we have every chance of finishing 2nd.COYB.⚽
