Re: Wagner gone!
Have to say I don’t worry too much about them. I could be completely wrong here (and I’m sure someone will correct me) but didn’t they have a pretty good second half of the season? To finish 6th, where 3 of the 5 who finished above then had parachute payments, that seems like a pretty decent performance. Maybe they are irritated that we finished above them, or that Farke beat them, but it seems a bit of an overreaction to me. Presumably they wanted to get rid for some reason and this was their opportunity.
Was this the last year of their parachute payments? I’ve lost track.

Let’s see how long it’s is before those hyper inflated egotistical scum fans start spouting they’re adept McKenna.

Andy that club and their fans ALWAYS over react. They’re a very knee jerk club. They hire n fire at the drop of a hat.Andym wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:31 amHave to say I don’t worry too much about them. They are financially challenged now ( I’m being kind), as they no longe4 get parachute monies. Let’s see how they do next season. I think they’ll lose their better players ( they have the 3rd or 4th highest wage bill in the championship I believe), so cost will need to be cut quickly.

Might be wrong but think it is as they only get them for 2 years instead of 3 as they were only in the Prem for one year before relegation.Andym wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:31 amHave to say I don’t worry too much about them. Re: Wagner gone!
The ONLY player from their squad I rate is Stacey, decent defender, even Rowe and Sargent are overrated bang average players who are championship at best.

Re: Wagner gone!
They're 3rd in the table if you take it from the new year, behind Leeds and Town of course

Hopefully this is a massive c*ck up on their part, they'll be rocking the boat and rolling the dice with this sacking, not to mention what kind of a negative message it sends to applying managers.

I’ve just remembered they’re going for a young Arsenal coach…. Copying us yet again …. Expect their target is light years away from McKenna’s level and experience…. They really are tinpot from top down.

Good grief, nappies and baby formula, the bloke is 28. That makes Mckenna at 35 (when he arrived here) look positively ancient.hallamblue wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:45 amI’ve just remembered they’re going for a young Arsenal coach
McKenna and other young managers doing well in this new era of heavily stats driven, modern medicine football changes things, surely at 28 and with no first team managerial experience, that would be a step away from a risk and instead become a deep dive in to the purely experimental?

Exactly my thoughts. The squad isn't exactly amazing so they are over-achieving IMO.Andym wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 10:31 amHave to say I don’t worry too much about them. Re: Wagner gone!
Yep, to both posts. Reminds me of the "Jack Ross Job" Hibs carried out. They'll go backwards for absolute sure after that. Book it.shabba wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 11:44 amExactly my thoughts. Re: Wagner gone!
I’m wondering if the6 might recruit Rosenior from Hull and this Arsenal coach as a new coaching team!without doubt ncfc have to do a restructure … we all know this takes a lot of money , and time . I do believe they are trying now t9 emulate the model we have undertaken. The difference is our infrastructure is multifaceted, costed a fortune to assemble and has a VERY driven higher management team and CEO. They simply aren’t set up that way, and even if they are about to try and create that, that don’t have any money of serious financial backing to achieve I think…. I’ll be surprised if the6 finish above mid table next season. Might be wrong of course, but they’re not 8n a good place now. Shame !Ricco wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 11:03 amGood grief, nappies and baby formula, the bloke is 28. Re: Wagner gone!
Would have been fun if they'd put on Ride of the Valkyries as they kicked his as* out the exit.
I don't know, Wagner seemed to be doing Ok for them at times this season. Took a team to the end of season play-off games and provided them a chance. I think Smith and Jones are still in control there as club directors although someone obviously ain't happy and a top six opportunity just wasn't enough or a made a season. They got to be dismayed if Farke takes Leeds into the EPL in a short time although he was obviously fired from Carrow Road for a reason i.e. the directors there had had enough and reached for a change.
Maybe in retrospect they made an error but suppose it's a case of one manager proving an eventual success at one club name rather than another.
