Being honest I'm not sure he is better than what we have i.e Dykes, Adams and Shankland.
Still a lot of improvement to come in Hirst. This season is a big one for him as to whether he can step up.
Needs to score more of the chances that he is presented with IMO.
If he keeps improving then yes he will be an asset.

I think he's going to struggle in the Premier League if I'm honest, he was hardly prolific in the lower leagues, as for international standard, not for me.
