The 2024-25 Premier League season kicks off on Friday August 16 and one of the markets that may attract punters is betting on one team to finish higher than another.
Punters can bet on any of the 20 top-flight clubs to finish higher than a particular rival and in this article our expert analyses the market to find some good value selections.
bet365 is offering Telegraph readers an exciting new customer promotion for the Premier League.

Wolves in Tractor Boys’ sights
Ipswich have won back-to-back automatic promotions under Kieran McKenna and their fans will be relishing the prospect of Premier League football at Portman Road for the first time since 2002.
Attack has seemingly been the best form of defence for McKenna’s team, who scored 101 goals in League One two seasons ago and 92 in securing promotion from the Championship last term.
Nathan Broadhead, Conor Chaplin and Omari Hutchinson all finished last season with double-figure goal tallies across all competitions, but how will they and the team perform in the top flight?
One option for punters who fancy Ipswich to do well is the ‘higher than’ market, in which – as the name suggests – you can back them to finish above another named team.
We’ve picked Wolves as a team that Ipswich could finish higher than – and at a price of 2/1 we think there’s certainly value to be had in this market.
Gary O’Neil did an excellent job last season but Wolves still had a mixed campaign and we think that 2024-25 could be even harder after the sale of central defender Max Kilman to West Ham United.
We’re backing Wolves to struggle and Ipswich to end the season looking down on them in the table.

I’m not a betting man but 2/1 doesn’t seem that great? If you put £100 on you might win £100 but that isn’t life changing - and you could equally lose £100.

I feel it’s only worth betting if you feel it’s a very high chance of coming off, or it’s long odds to worth a small punt coming in.

*Or if it’s lay betting on horses, bit of a faff but I feel
You can make money if you have the balls/money to make big stakes for small gains

Also I’m banned from a few bookies as I did a stint of matched betting, was a faff but made about £500 over a month using up all the free introductory offers and having a matched bet so I couldn’t lose.

Well done you Shabba it’s not easy to beat the bookie.
If you put £100 on the ITFC v Wolves bet yod get £300 back. Win £200 + stake returned.

I’m no longer a betting man as I don’t have any accounts active. If I did I’d do an ew bet on Town to win the EPL which should be huge odds, and another to avoid relegation as I’m fairly optimistic we can achieve that however difficult it might be.

Ah yes sorry, that’s better.

Wonder what the odds on staying up are or staying up and finishing above saints and Leicester.

My dad likes a bet - a while ago he would always bet on town having alot of corners - they always seemed to have loads.
