Re: Morsy
Whilst not an impossible scenario, id say unlikely. Its also often difficult to drop your captain

this isn't the championship or league one .
you don't have to agree , but it is still a fact .
never said I didn't like the player . I call it like I see it .
my judgement is not based on 2 matches .
he can't even get a game for Egypt.
take a look at the others in the prem who play his position and tell me how he ranks.

Re: Morsy
How is it NOT based on 2 games???
He was immense in the championship last season.
Stupid post IMO - and I’d say the same in person frankly so not being a keyboard warrior.
I see where you are trying to go with this but jeez let’s not be stupid after 2 games…

Re: Morsy
if you are talking to me ,
I stand by my comment .
he was good in league one and championship . very good at that level.
he wouldn't get in the starting eleven of 16 or 17 other prem sides , maybe 19 .
hence average for premier league.
it's not personal , it's my opinion .
no one asked you to agree.
this is a discussion , obviously.
I love to read opinions of others .
and I don't tell people their opinions are stupid.
you feel what you want to feel ,it's ok.

doesn't anyone ever disagree with you or is that not allowed ?

Far from upset, you'd know if I was upset. It is indeed a discussion board, and yes people disagree with me and each other all the time, same as they will you, in fact of the people that have replied to your comment so far they've all disagreed with you. Maybe it's me but it comes across that you have a confrontational edge to your posts.MMJR67 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 12:47 amBeen coming on here since 2005 and use to be a moderator Sir.

I can handle difference of opinion very well thanks .
I don't think standing by my opinion , and agreeing with another members opinion is confrontational at all .
you on the other hand fit that description well.
surely a global moderator shouldn't be slagging off members who post infrequently .
I have read many of your comments and this isn't the first time .
try engaging in debate and not thinking your opinion is the gospel.
I'll wait for debate , we have the same passion after all.
still waiting for your answer as to how you rate him compared to others in the prem who play his position .

Re: Morsy
Like everyone I love what Morsy has brought to our midfield since he arrived but imo he won't have the speed to be effective in the premier Phillips & Cajuste we I'll be our starting midfield.

Re: Morsy
If we rewind back to the beginning, you said "Morsy is average in this league, so is Luongo" now while you could ultimately be correct don't you think it's a tad early after Two games against such tough opposition to draw that conclusion? Morsy in particular has been pretty decent and against Liverpool the MOTD pundits actually featured Luongo and how he did such a sterling job in man marking Trent out of the game in the first half, so so far they ain't done bad.
As for comparing them to others in the division of course they may be quite a way down the list in terms of quality as we have some of the world's elite to compare with but I think they need to be given credit thus far clearly McKenna has brought in other midfielders to challenge for a place and strengthen us but we don't even know if Cajuste is gonna cut it ( he probably will) while Phillips has a lot to do to get his mojo back.
As for the moderator nonsense, I'm not even gonna get into that, if Frosty has a problem he'll say, I don't even regard myself as one apart from helping with preview and predictions etc and I basically never try to get involved in addressing stuff apart from the odd unavoidable time. I regard myself as just another poster which is what I prefer and I have no issue with agreeing or disagreeing with opinions, it's what it's all about.

Re: Morsy
Just curious as to why Morsy is singled out when Davis has cost us Three goals already, Muric looks a car crash, Woolfenden was often lambasted in the Championship, Chaplin's ability to step up has been questioned etc, just wondering why Morsy ?Blue Bentley wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 9:58 amBased on him not being good enough for the premier.

Re: Morsy
I think for sure that Sam will miss a few games this season through his ability to get a yellow card nearly every match, BUT that's how Sam plays by getting stuck in and you can't fault him for that as old habits don't just disappear if he wasn't picking up yellows I would say his game has gone pear-shaped or he's softened up
he will have Phillips and Cajuste to help him in midfield, and I can see See Townsend getting some game time as Leif is struggling to adjust to the premiership quality right flank opposition players he's been run ragged and certainly needs to adjust his game, and I'm sure Muric will get some coaching on how not to lose a ball at your feet and make quicker decisions on distribution, if not he will lose his place to Walton
