Kalvin Phillips - What a relief to read this this morning

Post by Charnwood » Sat Sep 28, 2024 7:21 am

Ipswich Town have quashed rumours that Kalvin Phillips could be recalled by Manchester City following Rodri's season-ending injury. The England midfielder, who moved to Ipswich on a season-long loan last month, is set to remain at Portman Road with the club confirming there's no recall clause in his contract.

As if. Having said that KP was so far down the pecking order ant Man City and so out of favour it would still have been worth the risk.

He was also on a podcast recently saying he is 'loving life at town' and said McKenna was doing everything to help him.

He has been playing really well, but I think he can go up a level and be a monster for us.

We’re really lucky to have him, to be honest. Didn’t MC pay over 40-mil for him? I was skeptical at first, but his quality is obvious now. Hope this loan spell resurrects his career!

I think it was £42m plus add ons although I can’t imagine any add ons will have been triggered. You can see his confidence growing with each game with him also getting further upfield especially for set pieces. His loan is a definite win win for player and club ( Town & Man City) and this loan looks almost certain to resurrect his career.

Not bad getting a 42mil MC player on loan is it? Maybe we should be calling Mark Ashton the Messiah?

According to Bristol City fans, he's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.
