Yellow cards....

So, what's the rules on yellow cards and match bans etc ? Asking for a friend ( he's Egyptian )

Players who receive a total of five yellow cards in their first 19 fixtures will be given a one-match suspension. Should a player be booked 10 times across their first 32 matches they will be suspended for two matches.

At this rate Sam will miss three matches before the end of the year which isn’t brilliant for a captain.

Thanks Andy..... :D .... not great, but not as bad as I thought. When he does get a ban, as he will, we have cover now, and at least it's just a one match ban. It'll give him a rest!

I think I'm starting to make some headway, Andy. I'm actually doing stretches of the quads and hamstrings into end of available range. This appears to be helping knee bend. But it's a daily routine as knee always stiffens up over the day and when it's been kept still ( night time in bed).... I can't do a full revolution on a static bike yet, but I think you said it took you a while, didn't you. I can go up stairs fairly well, but coming down varies as you need more ROM to do it. I'll just keep battling away x

Knees! I missed what ever your injury was Liz, but have sympathy with you. I'm currently off work with what an MRI scan showed to be a 'bucket handle' Meniscus tear which happened 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Have been having physio sessions and am going down the rehab as opposed to Arthroscopic surgery route (unless it becomes obvious I can't manage), even though a lot of online sources suggests that is the only way forward.

Hi AM, hmmm bucket handle tears font usually heal as they're on the inner part of the cartilage, which has no blood supple. Rehab will only go so far. I'd yoh keep getting the knee "locking", that's usually an infection for arthroscopic/ repair...but that's the thin end of the wedge tbh. I had a similar problem over a decade ago and had it scoped. But as soon as they remove any cartilage, it usually ends up being done level of joint arthritis. You're probably already on thst slippery slope anyway I'm afraid.

My knee was totally replaced ...it's an arse of an operation too. So me and Andy are now in the " tin knee club" .... I'm also in the tin hip club too lol... full of OA .. :lol:

It was 6 weeks before I could do a full revolution on the static bike and needed scar tissue to be broken away first as it was that which was working like a ratchet stopping the knee bend. Once done recovery was rapid.
Night time in bed you need to make sure you preferably sleep on your back with the operated leg slightly raised. If you have to sleep on your side make sure you’re on the non operated leg side and place a pillow between your legs as blood supply to the knee is important as I’m sure you know Liz.
I think you’ll find some rapid improvement anytime soon, that was my experience anyway.

I'm not seeing my surgeon until 3rd week of Oct which will be 8 weeks post op by then. I'm battling with the same tightness every day. I think I'm dealing with scar tissue too, but thuis is the NHS we're talking about here, so God knows. The sleep position (on un-operated side) is the only position I can lay on. Due to nerve root pain / disc pain from the spinal block going down operated leg. Struggle to lie on back due to tightness down back of operated leg which I cant decide if it's nerve root pain or tight / short hamstring/ calf muscle. Basically it's just pain / tightness the whole time. But I keep trying to get more movement..... time will tell I guess.
