NY Times paywalled article, this is a link to an archived version, apologies if it's been posted elsewhere.

it's an incredible read actually, and a bit of me feels bad for criticising anything given how fast we have risen to where we are.

A great read. One thing is for sure, they are not going to want the world cup to come to the US with their club anywhere other than in the Premier League...

Yeah, because they knew when they bought it from Mevans that untried & untested 34 year old Kieron McKenna would get them there in 24 months.

Are you for real, Wilf? I am usually quite good at sussing out a wind-up merchant but you are too good.

I am just me, Marko. A 62 year old lifelong fan that goes home and away and has done for years. I have watched an awful lot of football both Ipswich and others but I am nothing more or less than a fan so don't try and read anything sinister or coercive in any of my posts. I just say it as I see it.

Regarding this post, when the original guys invested then the world cup was a good way away, the latest investment was as we made the Prem. I just think that now we are here they will be keen that we stay here before the worlds eyes turn to the world cup as for them to swan around at the venues as owners of a Prem club is likely to make them feel much better than if we had just been relegated. Nothing sinister in that from my perspective but read into it what you will - not gonna change my view regardless!

Fair doos, Wilf, understood, cheers for that.

But plenty can happen between now and 2026. I sincerely hope Gamechanger, Mash & Co etc etc have at least an inkling as to who the next boss is going to be. Like you say; you are there, you are witnessing every minute, (the pies must be shyte! :D ) ....., and if things do not change in your opinion --->> things need to change. Really can't see KMcK deviating too far his "philosophy" (God, I hate that word) and so, I genuinely hope the new guy can be on the same page as what some fans are wanting to see from an EPL surviving boss.

I hope we don't need a new guy as much as everyone else (although Ten Hag getting the chop will start the speculation again...)! If that did happen, it is interesting to read that MA has a whole line up of good managers in his little black book 🤞

What worries me…….. Hear me out please.

Regarding what you are seeing at games, and being dissatisfied when things don’t go according to plan. ……

There is a very VERY niche area in there somewhere from being who you want the manager to be ——->> and being a Paul Lambert.
(ie) ….. stumbling about looking for something to click.
Hands up, after reading back over the days posts and my own efforts; it appears my tongue is wedged square between the managers butt cheeks……. And asking myself, “WHY? Why so passionate to protect him?”
I think subconsciously it is that —->> its Lambert fear.
I see the guy doing what 4 managers couldn’t, then doing the Champ in one season, (yes Lambert done that too but he was spoon-fed by his sidekick) ….. and i’d hate for it to become a “What if he didn’t get sacked” scenario.
I think he’s earned a shot at 38 EPL games.
And like the Robbo years, hopefully it will all come good.

Going back to the thread title and the Gamechanger clan…….. They usually send 2 or 3 for Xmas games.
🙏-ing whatever happens, there are no boo-boys @ PR for those games.

Summing up ——>> Muric, do YOUR job better. Ashford has told Slicker to get stripped! You don’t want that do ye?

Marko, absolutely nobody, as far as I am aware, wants Mckenna gone, that would at this time be lunacy, he will go on to be a great manager, of that I have no doubt, there is a chasm of difference between calling for his head and being angry at what I perceive to be a lack of strategy to protect an oh so crucial win that was well within our grasp.

The upshot of it is that we are still winless and in the bottom Three, so as it stands we are not even achieving our target of 17th, add to that the ramping up of pressure prior to the Leicester game which even the most optimistic among us have to accept its a must must must win game.

It was largely accepted we needed seven or eight home wins to even stand a chance and we have Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs still to come to Portman Road, I believe that leaves Nine more home games, looking at this scenario makes the tossing away of games like Brentford even more frustrating.

At the end of the day we all want the same thing and end product, of course we all have different opinions and always will but I have to be honest and say I feel a lot of fans are still very much wrapped up in the Kieran McKenna is the Messiah type thing, he was for Two years, he's learning now too but in a few areas I certainly feel he's making it just a bit harder for himself, commendable yes and he believes in the process and that it will come good, it may well do but at the moment it's looking like it could turn a bit too late.

Guilty as charged for me, man…….. He’s not the Messiah, He’s a very ——>> better than a Messiah!” :D

Seriously though, hand ups, call me Kal —->> a Kieron Arse Licker!

But believe it or not, got a text from my very closest cousin who reads this forum…….
“That Blue Wilf fella. What would you do if he was telling you how things should be going at Easter Road?”

 KerCHING! Penny dropped. I’ll ease off on the Kieron stuff. Show more respect to you guys who are physically there. 👍👌
