SLICK CHRISTIAN WALTON

With three GK's at the club, got to believe that another one is NOT on the January shopping list --->> if a decent one for ITFC even exists.
But on Walton. From memory..... he began his liability antics in League One. I mean yes, he played some real cracking games, but Valclav Hdlaky came in and Christian was history.
Will a 2 years older Christian Walton in the English Premier League be an acceptable answer to Muric?
Does he need tried ------>> just to see "if"?

Walton is not the answer, Marko imo as his ability with the ball at his feet is equally poor (and as you say, thats from 2 seasons ago). We will never know why Hladky and the club could not come to an arrangement but there you go. McKenna sees these guys day in, day out so just how bad must Walton and Slicker be to not get a shout? Or maybe he does not want to undermine Muric

what I do know is that by not dropping him, he is undermining his own (KM) credibility in my view.

I think we should try and get Pope back here. He's at SUFC who are pushing for promotion so bloody difficult. But we need to offload Muric without a doubt...somehow!

Liz Nick Pope is out for around 4 months with a shoulder injury, but you are right about trying to get him back here that won't happen until the end of the season, also who is SUFC ?????? Sheff Utd, Southend Utd, please advise unless of course there is another Nick Pope

We can't offload him as our manager keeps adoring what he produces week in week out.

Maybe it’s slightly more than that ……….
“You drop me, I keel all your famileee!”
MOTD: “Are you surprised to see Muric in goal, Rio after two weeks of glaring mistakes?”
“I am Gary. I really am. I mean the only plausible explanation is Arijanet has threatened to kill the managers entire family.”
“Really? You think it’s that serious?”
“I do Gary. I really do.”

Ha ha Sheffield Utd Ash…. Sorry was being lazy in typing …pity about Popes injury. Not that we’d have got him anyway. I’d have my deceased granny in goal right now ahead of Muric tbh.

Yes but he gets everything right and we have to trust him no matter what. Apparently.

Newcastle are officially eyeing another young 21-year-old keeper James Trafford from Burnley to take over from Nick Pope so Pope will be available to sign up even though they have Dubravka, Vlachodimos, Ruddy, Gillespie and Pope all very capable keepers, oh if we had they selection problems the top 6 have

100%, although he'd had a significant injury whilst at Plymouth and was out for a long while.

Guess you could argue Muric is on Sereni wages…at least modern wages. Too bad he isn’t anywhere close to Sereni talent wise, although Sereni wasn’t the greatest.
Just for clarity, did someone compare Muric to Banks?! Banks was half Muric’s size and twice as good. For me, Gordon Banks is/was the best goal keeper ever!

Always Peter Shilton for me - with Ray Clemence close behind. They both knew how to 'own' their penalty area!

What we noticed ( Mike and me) last night was Waltons distribution was much quicker, and his kicks up field were more accurate and had good length. His handling was by and large sure and ge took the ball out the air cleanly. Whether the change in formation has further helped the keeper I'm not sure but we just looked so much more solid playing this formation.
What I particularly liked was our ability to hit Chelsea quickly on the break from the defensive position and Broadhead acted as a supporting foil for Delap too .
I just hope we continue with this tactic because it works! Defence / defending is not a dirty word and successful teams are built on solid defending, something we've been divorced from for so long. It's lovely to see us becoming so solid now.

Yes, his distribution was a revelation last night. Having said that, we played long ball 90% of the game so that accuracy was required and was effective. On the few occasions he had to or tried to play it out, we nearly got caught out. Not just Walton at fault but did cause a few dodgy heart moments!
I felt that KM picking Walton was exactly due to him deciding to change tactics (

) and go long ball rather than get picked off at the back by better chelsea players closing us down. It was really effective and I though Burns actually tried to get on the end of a few clearances (clearly a ploy they had worked on) and was unlucky not to. We used to play that under McCarthy with Jon Walters on the wing if you remember! Anyway, the change of tactic worked as I think Chelsea expected Muric and play from the back but got Walton and long (but more accurate) ball and they didn't adapt or like it. Add to that, our aggression in closing them down and they shat themselves as they expected us to let them play their slow expansive game - well f*ck them and their billions - we didn't and they crumbled. I am STILL buzzing from it and keep reflecting what a great plan and execution it was. Fair play to KM - he clearly read our posts

(that is a JOKE btw....!!)
