Welcome to Week 1 of our Prediction League 2024/25 which will be based on the same rules as last year. The Individual Competition will continue to be the main event and the winner will be crowned our Prediction League Champion, the current holder is Frosty. We will also compete for the "League Trophy" with Monthly Promotions & Relegations and the number of leagues will be decided when we know how many players we have, the winner will be the person finishing top of the Premier League at the end of the season, last years winner was Johnny B . The TB Cup will again be played for in conjunction with the FA Cup beginning in January, the current holder is Frosty. Our Head to Head Competition is our fourth trophy to play for and the current holder is Gold & Black.
New players are always welcome, all we ask is that once you sign up please commit to play for the compete season as some of the competitions are almost impossible to manage when players drop out.

I don’t think this information is of any help whatsoever. We all know last seasons highest attendance was 29,611 v Norwich and that the capacity was circa 29,673 according to Wiki. We also know that extra seating has been added but can only guess at the number and we don’t know if all these are available for our opening games. We had numerous times last season when we told to expect a crowd in excess of 29,000 which didn’t materialise. I don’t think Mark Ashtons statement tells us much more than we already knew last week.

Players who post early are always at a disadvantage on the Town section of Q’s which require a players name as the later you leave it the more likely you are to know of any late player availability information although you will never know the team sheet for sure as the closing time for predictions takes care of this. However as all players who leave posting late know, there is always a risk of forgetting to post and you wipe out potential points on 16 questions, just ask Mach, Lucy, AP and BlueBlood and a few others who each experienced this last year.

I see 9 of the early posters have predicted an attendance of more than last seasons highest and most of these higher than last seasons capacity which suggests most have allowed for some extra seats being available, what none of us know is how many so we’re all still guessing and I extract our predictions on this to be close.

My own thoughts being in the range of 29,600 to 30100 but of course I could be wrong which wouldn’t surprise anyone.
