WHO AM I. QUIZ

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

More value will be added though when we win the play offs and Jase bangs in a hatrick against the Buns in the Cup Final. £5M+ :D
with Wolves its all talk mate, we have become a selling club, like Afobe going to Bournemouth, how did that happen, the days of clubs like little ol Bournemouth taking our best players has arrived,

and best of luck in that final.

I've thought that for years, mate. Why are Bournemouth, Watford and Swansea in the top league and not in Division 4 where they belong? Let's get Wolves and Coventry City (and ITFC :D ) back in the top division.

And cheers about May 21st. League play offs to take care of as well. Defeated Raith 2-0 today after the 1-0 defeat the other night. Falkirk @ ER on Tuesday then in Falkirk next Friday. If that's won, it's Kilmarnock either side of the SCF. Busy time ahead. MON THE CABBAGE!

Not to worry, Mike is to busy converting the "Mick Out brigade" to come this far down in the message board to read any of our wise words of wisdom. there's not many of us left with such knowledge.

Third Lanark rules OK. (except Hibs of course)

Just managed to catch today's results and League One final table. The mighty Wolves and ITFC are sharing a league with Burton Albion next season. Mike will have a hard job with many fans if things don't go right in those fixtures! Burton Albion?!!!

Some quiz stuff for you:

1/ Born 1953, Grenada. Played 172 times for a certain club, only scored once. I have an OBE.

2/ I appeared 211 for my club, I scored 107 goals. I played once for England (B) and scored once! Unfortunately I died last year in Kidderminster. I was a legend in my fans eyes!

3/ I was born in Motherwell, Scotland. I played 113 times for my home town scoring 80 goals. I also played for Tranmere Rovers between 1972 and 1973, but played for a slightly bigger merseyside club before this, scoring bucketloads of goals.

1.....Brendon Batson (later to become Brenda Batson of Sandwell Town,)
2.....Roy Swinbourne
3.....I keep thinking of John Aldridge but sure he is English.

might need a clue. I know Gary McAllister came from Motherwell but not a great goal scorer, I'm going for Ian St John but is a wild guess

There is a connection between these 3 footballers from the past.
Who are they,? And whats the connection. actually there's 2 connections come to think of it.

Clue One.

1. I was born in Manchester in 1942.
2. I was born in Greater London in 1939
3. I was born in Derbyshire in. 1934.

West Bromwich Albion? I recognise Batson & Regis. But the goalies jersey has writing on it..., WBA?

Or is this a different team made up of various players?

I think your got it spot on mate.

The day West Brom and Wolves took to the field in a Whites v Blacks match
It would be unimaginable in this day and age of Kick It Out campaigns, stadium bans and political correctness.

I do like the history of Scotsmen making it big in football down south, as players or managers. We used to be "up there" with the best of them, and that was with born and bred Scotsmen. We do have a few good ones now, but they've mostly got grannies with Scottish next door neighbours!

I'm not sure if folk these day realise or appreciate how important the REAL Scottish players and managers were back in the days when football was great in this country and in Scotland, even Wales and both Irish sides had some great players. Long gone now and doubt we will see the likes again.

You are correct. People in their 20's are too young to remember when Scotland were a very capable side. The 82 World Cup (John Wark was awesome) we should've made the 2nd phase had it not been for Alan Hansen and Willie Millar running into each other, allowing the USSR to waltz past and score to make it 2-1......, Souness did equalise to make it 2-2 but we needed the win and were on the ascendency when Hansen/Millar screwed it up. Remember as a 13 year old being not best pleased. And when seeing Hansen on MOTD always reminded of that incident.

But as said, you are very correct, ...... As the lyric goes, "O Flower of Scotland, when will we see, your likes again?"......., with regards to the "soccer", never imho.

My God, I cannot stand John Greig. Guy is a bigoted Ersehole.

No clue on exact year on this one but I'd hazard a guess at mid 60's......, 1965. A pre World Cup friendly for West Gernanys 66 showdown.
