Re: WHO AM I. QUIZ
Like how you had a wee dig at Big Frank at the end there. No worries, but I LOVE Frank Bruno. Was a massive fan during his career and he's an all round entertaining guy. If only he could've moved up just one more gear in the second round of the first Tyson fight; he would've won.
New question and new clues;
I was born in 1960
I would've been a big favourite of a Countdown host
I would have to say "Morton" is very close to me
I have a place in history with one moment of pure magic.

Houchen would be about the right age although did consider other names before realizing they couldn't possibly be from the place mentioned.
Didn't fully comprehend the countdown bit or reference to elephant on shirt (unless this character was sat on by Jan Molby at some stage of their career)
Will give it some thought and get back another time if it hasn't gone by then.

Re: WHO AM I. QUIZ
Bang on it, Wolferino! Nice one.
Answer was Keith Morton Houchen.
Played for Hartlepool at the beginning and the end of his career..... Jeff must've loved him.
And he scored that goal for Coventry City in the 87 final. Even though my youngest son wasn't born until 94, that true Gunner loves Houchens 87 goal!
He also received cult adoration at Easter Road. He wasn't the best player on the ball, but my God he could read a game better than anyone...... Always in great positions and losing his marker. Great memories.
Your go Mr Wolf.

The answer to your question......., my dad used to say it when talking about Angela Lansburys "Murder, She Wrote"........, he used to say "--- ---, She Wrote"

He meant 'Red Herring' i.e. something included that is intended to deviate away from the actual answer or relevant subject.

Re: WHO AM I. QUIZ
That was a poor attempt at humor, knew damn well all along it was Red Rum
You want another round.., very well we'll play along one more time
#1 I was one of the most gifted players of my generation
#2 I was part of a great team that didn't win the ultimate honor they so much deserved
#3 I have played in a European final
#4 I was not afraid to participate in some gambling
#5 I met a tragic end in unusual circumstances
