What did you have for dinner last night?

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

Sounds wonderful! I was in Ipswich in the afternoon so had fish and chips before going to the Wet Spam match.

No mate, it was just 5 enormous lumps of very fresh local lamb, BBQ'd at very short notice following an urge to dine Al fresco.

Not very exciting I know, but it beat cooking in the kitchen on a very hot summer Sunday afternoon.

Looking fwd to hearing what Bluemike had for dinner last night, ....., also what he was wearing, and about his next door neighbour having a affair with the dog walker....., and exactly how to get around the dilemma of being in a store car park without having a pound coin for a trolley.

Chicken stir fry with boiled rice.

Well that sounds better than 'Spotted-d*ck'!

My dinner last night was fit for a Cajun Alligator Hunter:

Jambalaya
Seasoned rice with grilled chicken and grilled sausage...no loose women tonight, Mike.

The Russian KGB agents name was indeed Richard, 9. Did someone spot D1ck? He's usually so careful. He definitely spotted sheep.

Love the old Jambalaya, 9. You make it yourself?

I usually use premixed rice, but I jazz it up a bit. I have made it completely from scratch...I reserve that approach for special occasions. The key for me is grilling your meats before adding to the rice. Most people just boil it all together. I bet your KGB agent has had his 'meat grilled' a few times??

The KGB agent just talks a load of "tripe" if I'm honest.

I'll eat any jambalaya that hasn't got sea life in it. Went to a BBQ recently to a friend of my bro in laws and there was jambalaya there. But it had shrimps and stuff in it. Not my thing.

True story about the first time I heard "jambalaya"

Mel (my wife's pal at a party) ....., did anyone bring the Jambalaya?
Random voice (can't remember who) ....., was someone supposed to bring the jambalaya?
Me ......, I've got my guitar in the boot of the car, will that help?

I thought "a" jambalaya was a musical instrument. :astroll:

That's good stuff Marko. :D ...Jambalaya always reminds me of that old Hank Williams song..."Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and fillet gumbo, 'Cause tonight I'm gonna see my ma cher amio..."

NO Hank Sr is gay, partner

Homemade chicken enchiladas with Spanish Rice started off with a couple of Templeton Rye's before dinner and washed down with a nice Sangria.

Sure Ohio, come on over mate!

I'm happy to report the brisket was lovely! It weighed around 9 and a half pounds. I used charcoal and hickory wood chunks in a Webber Grill. I had to overcome a few problems: the brisket was 16 and a half inches long and the grill is 16 and a half inches long, so I had to do a little trimming. My grill is not really designed for a brisket that size, but I thought 'what the hell' you never know 'til you've tried. According to instructions, you're supposed smoke for an hour per pound. At around 7 hours my fire ran out of fuel, but instead of trying to relight the fire I just wrapped the brisket in foil and popped it in the oven at 200 degrees. After a couple hours, the brisket was perfectly tender and retained it's smoked flavor.

I served the brisket in lightly fried corn tortillias, topped with freshly made pico de gallo and a side of homemade pinto beans.
