My first "proper" cheese and pickle sandwich

A place to chat about anything thats not football related. Most of the threads in here are completely pointless which is why people keep coming back and back. As the forum title suggests, feel free to make any post you want on any subject you wish. It also has Adult jokes (so be warned) which is the other reason people keep coming back.

My first "proper" cheese and pickle sandwich

Post by Ohiotractorboy » Thu Jun 21, 2018 9:42 pm

I have always liked having a sandwich with American cheese and sweet pickle slices, but I just got a jar of Branston pickles and had it with some Mild Cheddar. I liked it, but it did take awhile to get used to the crunchy carrot thing. Is mild cheddar the way to go, or should I get somewhat stronger cheddar? It seemed to get lost a bit in the Branston.

Definitely a mature cheddar needed Ohio, then the two compliment each other perfectly. Cheese & Branston pickle is my regular sandwich choice for my lunch pack up.

OK, thanks for that. I will give it a try with it. I read somewhere that it was voted the favorite sandwich over there, not sure if it is true or not

Why not try Wensleydale with Tomato Chutney on brown bread and butter as an alternative.
