Harry Winks to Leicester for 10 million and they are after Conor Cody from Wolves both good signings if they go through.

They need to raise approx 100m net this year, so they won't be signing too many.
Winks is a risk, could be good but he seemed to drop off recently, Coady would be v good though.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
Leicester get £40M this year from parachute payments. Splash in the ocean compared to what they're used to but every little helps. £35M next year if they fail to go up. And err, £15M year after that.
Jeezo. Makes you wonder..... was all that spent on Pukki's wages?

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
Yep, they are in the sh!t.
The one consistent is the players wages. In fact they were given significant wage rises if those numbers are accurate. Yet their performance %’s dropped massively. Strange one.
Can’t decide if thats down to Rodgers or not.
If going down that road, would probably need to assume Kieron McKenna was to blame for the Jan / Feb dip in form. Maybe some do, but its on the players in my opinion. Too many overpaid “untouchables”.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
I won't get this time back but saw an item just recent that West Ham are wanting over £ 100,000,000 (one hundred million) for their midfield player Declan Rice. Is there anything really exceptional about this kid other than maybe playing well for the English national team or being a competent player. How the f*ck do you justify prices these club names see fit to put on. They're not Barcelona or anything.
Arsenal bid two recent offers of around the said 100 million which were turned away. They're now looking to increase it to around 105 M in hope the East London club name accepts a deal. (The latter believe said (they rejected past offers) as "the structure of bid was incorrect")
Why not just empty the entire contests of the Federal Reserve and Fort Knox while you're at it and transport it round in an armored van to them and hope they accept terms or something. Transfers, salaries and all that, complete in disarray. Think some teams now just put some - or any - absurd price on a player and sooner or later some sucker will pay up.
Bayern Munich hoping (also) to bring in Kane from Spurs for something like 70, 75 million. All right the player is useful but must be approaching 30 years of age and best years seem behind it. Another example of exaggerated cost but somehow not quite as absurd as the potential move first stated.

Supply and demand, simple. Anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.arana peligrosa wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 5:45 pmI won't get this time back but saw an item just recent that West Ham are wanting over £ 100,000,000 (one hundred million) for their midfield player Declan Rice. Re: Non Ipswich transfers
This is really good for keeping track of championship transfers and spends (shame where the fee is listed as undisclosed though).

What I would say is plenty of clubs need more bodies in now and there is money starting to flow into the league - especially if you consider Watford are reported to have got £30m for Joao Pedro.
Should start to ramp up over the coming couple of weeks

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
I’m amazed Arsenal are willing to pay 105mil for D Rice, and now Manu have paid 55mil for Mount. In my opinion, those players are not even worth half. Makes me wonder how much Bayern are willing to pay for Kane? The market is way over inflated which may be the reason we haven’t seen any transfer activity for us. Although I’m anxious to see who we bring in, I don’t want us to overpay…especially on English players.

It’s not their money though is it. It’s the Sky gravy train , which is why clubs get into so much trouble when it goes wrong.

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
The Euro Super league needs to happen really. Six teams vs the rest is disastrous for the hangers on, like Norwich City & Burnley, (and Leicester)
Didn't think England would go that way so soon. No lessons learnt from up here ——>> 2 teams v the rest since the foreigner rule scrapped in the late 80s.

Pochettino is certainly putting his mark on Chelsea. Christopher Nkunku and now Nicolas Jackson are his first two signings...not a bad duo.

Be interesting to see who else leaves - I think six or so squad players went on free transfers madison for 40m and Barnes likely to West Ham soon it seems.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 9:25 pmLeicester spend £17.5m on Winks and Coady…

This just shows you, some town fans saying we should get him, quoting 4-5m...........well if you have a good season in the champsionship then the default premier league pricetag now seems to always be £20m+.
This is where its hard re Simms, what is he really worth? If we paid £1-5m for him and he has a good season he could be a 20m+ premier league target, or he could flop and its alot of money to then waste. SO difficult, and shows the challenge in pricing players. Even if Gyokeres is technucaly only worth say £7-8m they never get sold for such low amounts - its like a Premier league tax is applied! Same for foreign clubs, they might get 1-5m for a player from other non EPL clubs, then as soon as the EPL ones are in for them its £20m+.
You can see why the club have gone down the route of buying young players for sub £5m, only takes 1 or 2 to turn into £20m+ assets for it to work nicely.
I see Viktor Gyokeres hasn’t gone to any of the Premiership Clubs chasing him but instead chosen to join Sporting Lisbon where he will most likely get more game time rather than making up the numbers on the bench. It would spear his final fee was in the region of £18.5m

Leicester linked with Ings now too! Will be some championship squad they will have. Would also mean Hirst is further down the pecking order though

Re: Non Ipswich transfers
Yes I saw that, took a look on the Blackburn forum and a lot of their fans are laughing at the suggestion, saying he is decent but lost his way last season and was very poor in a lot of games, they don't see him as Premier league nor anywhere near the value of Simms or Maupay. I'm hoping they are right but that aside I've been of the opinion for some time that Simms won't be coming here.

Muapay is on approx 50k a week so its comical to think he'd turn up at Blackburn!Bluemike wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 12:13 pmYes I saw that, took a look on the Blackburn forum and a lot of their fans are laughing at the suggestion, saying he is decent but lost his way last season and was very poor in a lot of games, they don't see him as Premier league nor anywhere near the value of Simms or Maupay. Re: Non Ipswich transfers
Brentford have paid £ 24 Million on a defensive player. All right they've maybe done well in recent time, had a high EPL league finish or something and brought in extra money through that and selling out their stadium and merchandise sales but just to see a club name like that paying that kind of fee for a player - a defender of all things - just kind of caught the attention and not all for the right reasons.
So many transfer deals on the verge of being done but most of the time it's just obscure names you could never recognize being talked about as 50 million pound movers. Sometimes attribute all this crazy sh*t (back) to Trevor Francis. Had to start somewhere and if you look back far enough, Yeah that's where it originated from.
