Re: Transfer Rumours
Good start - I have a white German car. Can’t face owning a black car again! (Keeping it clean is an nightmare)
Assume some sort of SUV, like a bmw x5 or merc
Burns has a Matte grey defender. I hate matte grey!

Re: Transfer Rumours
It certainly looks like we are going to sign Hirst I know most won't agree but I'm not sure he is good enough I think Simms would have been a better signing and I think he was the player KMc wanted, hopefully Hirst will improve but 40 games in the Championship without scoring does not excite me I just hope I'm wrong, I think Freddie will do better given the chance.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I think the style of football we played last season will suit the Championship more than it did League 1 and between Ladapo, Hirst & Broadhead with support from others we have more than enough goals in the team to do well. I worry more about the defence where I think we still need the addition of at least one commanding Centre Back similar to when we had Hermann Hreidarsson or Gareth McAuley, that sort of quality anyway. With Christian Walton behind him and Sam Morsy in front it would give the team a very strong spine.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 10:57 pmIt certainly looks like we are going to sign Hirst I know most won't agree but I'm not sure he is good enough I think Simms would have been a better signing and I think he was the player KMc wanted, hopefully Hirst will improve but 40 games in the Championship without scoring does not excite me I just hope I'm wrong, I think Freddie will do better given the chance.

Re: Transfer Rumours
There’s no way in hell Simms was worth 7 to 10 mil, and he showed no interest in ITFC. With Hodgson back in charge at CP, I can also see us getting that winger on loan. And yes, as I’ve said all along we need a strong CB to partner Woolfy etal. I even said weeks ago, maybe we’d get an American. I hope we get that yankee from Arsenal cuz the US historically produces very good defenders. Will know more soon I suppose, but I’ll be very happy if we get Hirst. He knows the system and he probably has an allegiance to the shirt after last season.

Re: Transfer Rumours
If we are looking at wide players I'd like to see KM go back to Man Utd for the kid Emeran on loan, looked really good last night, scored one and made the other against Leeds.

Re: Transfer Rumours
That would be cool - someone young, not expected to play as a starter week in week out etc but with big potential. The guy Sunderland had from UTD worked wonders last year.
I've heard UTD can be hard to deal with re loans though, wanting big fee's etc. You'd think it would be better to get these players out and playing - increasing their profile/value, then starting charging loan fee's if going to Prem clubs after making their names lower down.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Sounds interesting but not a player I know anything of tbh, they are out there, it's just a case of nabbing the right ones which I'm sure Ashton and McKenna will.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Great to have him back, and for 1.5M not bad, all the best George!
Also on a side note, the shot of him with the new pitch in the background, starting to look good! (your ok too George

Re: Transfer Rumours
REALLY happy with this, like him as a player and initial £1.5m is a bargain, well done Ashton & Co!
IMO we could happily start the season with Ladapo and Hirst, and then see how we go, likely then upgrade Ladapo next season for a striker better than Hirst etc.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Also good as he knows the way we play, his team mates etc.
Just need a RW (ideally a young loan like BM suggested or such) and a experienced/top left sided CB then I think we are good to go.
(Plus clear out a few)

Re: Transfer Rumours
Well I certainly wasn’t jumping up and down when Hirst signed for us on loan. However, there is no doubt he did a good job for us especially towards the end of his loan spell. Hopefully this will continue at a higher level. Sometimes a player struggles at other clubs but then finds somewhere he fits in and he looks a completely different player. Somebody called Shefki comes to mind.
Welcome back George!

Re: Transfer Rumours
I must admit I'm surprised at the fee that's very good but wondering why no other teams have tried to buy him and why would Leicester not want to keep him, if he scores more than a dozen league goals I'll be surprised but very pleased.

Re: Transfer Rumours
True. I suspect they let him go as they have Ings, Vardy and they may keep Daka, so well stocked with better options. (this also assumes they will sell Iheanacho)Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:34 amI must admit I'm surprised at the fee that's very good but wondering why no other teams have tried to buy him and why would Leicester not want to keep him, if he scores more than a dozen league goals I'll be surprised but very pleased.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I suspect him wanting to come here and his feelings towards the staff, team and fans had a big part to play, glad he sees it as home, he will become a favourite im sure.
The goal he scored against Barnsley where he had to use his skill, strength and speed against Anderson and Kitching to put it away was awesome, thats when I saw him come alive, im sure he will put a fair few more away next season.
Now if we could get Trusty and Rak-Sayki in, as you say Cabanas Blue that would be a great looking team, I am sure we will get further quality in and MA/KM (and the background team) are doing a great job. Suspect the bigger or in demand players are trickier to get over the line and take a little more time, they will be in place by the end of this month.

Palace are thin on the ground so won't sanction any moves or loans atm, hopefully that changes soon as Rak-Sakyi would be a fab acquisition

Really can't wait for the dust to settle and we can see where we sit going into the new season. Most optimistic I have ever been!
