Re: Transfer Rumours
I guess we could have a BMW v Merc debate. For me BMW every time unless you’re talking S Class which is a completely different argument.
In the Premier League it’s Lamborghini v Ferrari
In Saudi, it’s Gulfstream or Bombardier

Re: Transfer Rumours
Defo worthy of a thread in anything else

Depends on the model though, BMW generally better to drive but the proper AMG merc's are pretty special and deliver alot more theatre than the M range from BMW.

Re: Transfer Rumours
KVY joins up with Keogh at Wycombe.
Wishing him the very best and hopefully an injury free run. Always liked him as a player and apart from a poor injury record always had something to give.

Out my way it's Toyota, Toyota or Nissan, Or Toyota. Everything else gets shaken to pieces.

He started off ok but flattered to deceive all too often, sometimes his positional play was pretty suspect.

Re: Transfer Rumours
An interesting comment from George Hirst gives an indication of how much influence Kieron McKenna may have getting transfers over the line. Thus could be significant whe it comes to Premiership Clubs consider sending young talent out on loan for experience and development.
George Hirst’s desire to come back ‘home’ played a big part in his decision to return to Ipswich.
Tractor Boys boss Kieran McKenna was also key to the striker’s permanent switch for an undisclosed fee, with the former Pompey loanee claiming the Northern Irishman is the ‘best’ manager he’s worked under.

Re: Transfer Rumours
I’d said to Mike that I felt Hirst really loved it here and would want to come back.
I think the word is out in the game of what a great Club we are once again and if you have desires to improve snd strive to the higher levels over time, Ipswich might just be the place to be.
I wonder if we might try for this player as an additional striker?

Re: Transfer Rumours
I think McKenna is trying to build little mini squads for different section of the team. I think it’s be a bit of a coup to get him tbh especially as he’s been on loan to PNE twice . It’s whether we’re even interested in him and whether we could persuade him to come to us.
We can dream ….

It would appear Sunderland are likely to withdraw interest as they don’t see him fitting into their pay structure. Last season Christian Walton was our highest paid player on £12k Meanwhile Sunderland’s highest paid player last season was on loan Amad Diallo who was paid £28k pw which suggests Tom Cannon maybe outside our affordability range too. No point unsettling our existing squad either. Sunderland’s next highest paid players both earned £16k pw, which again suggests if Sunderland don’t think they can afford him we probably won’t want to either.
Last George Hirst was being paid £16k pw by Leicester City and clearly we’d have contributed towards that. Have the terms of his new contract with Town been made public ?

Changing gears a bit, but I think we need to offload Edmundson he just doesn’t have the skills to play KM’s way. Sorry but if you can’t even play the ball out from the back without creating opposition chances you shouldn’t be in this team. No disrespect, but Edmundson is a donkey and needs to be shipped out asap.

I see Auston Trusty has been included in Arsenal's pre season tour of the USA which they left for today.

Re: Transfer Rumours
League Two Gillingham are reported to be showing interest in Blues striker Joe Pigott, who is set to leave Portman Road this summer.
According to Kent Online, the 29-year-old could be the answer to the Gills’ search for a new frontman.
Maidstone-born Pigott previously had a loan spell with Gillingham in 2014, scoring once in four starts and three sub appearances.
Pigott, whose Town career has been a big disappointment since he signed in the summer of 2021 and spent last season on loan at Portsmouth, is expected to settle the remaining year of his Blues deal.
Speaking after the Maidenhead United friendly just over a week ago, manager Kieran McKenna outlined the situation with the former AFC Wimbledon man, who hasn’t joined up with the club during pre-season training.
“Joe’s in discussion with the club,” he said. “I’ve not been involved in those discussions. Joe’s in discussions with the club about the best way forward.
“He’s had a season out on loan this year and he’s discussing with the club what’s going to be the best option for this year.”

Re: Transfer Rumours
I can see this happening. He’s a London boy isn’t he and gillingham is just south of the river? Good luck to him . He just needs to be playing every week now. He’s not had a very good time this last 2 years.

Re: Transfer Rumours
Similar thing happened with Davis too I think Mike, he went away to Australia with Leeds when rumours were going about. Maybe we will know for definite during this week, see how he gets on. I wouldn't rule him out just yet.
Hoping we will see little more activity on the defensive front soon.

In Auston we Trusty…really hoping we get him. He’s a big, athletic lad…would be a perfect addition to the KM juggernaut that is. If you don’t wanna play for ITFC, you’re not cool.
