One of only very few journalists David Ornstein I take any notice of just reported this

Kieran McKenna expected to sign long-term contract at Ipswich Town

Call me naive (no Marko, not another 'airplane' pun
), but something tells me and has done all along that KM will still start the season with us!
Reading the "Fuller flavour" column in the EADT today, this comment came up, and while yes this whole saga is as frustrating as hell, it should be kept in mind by those (understandably) wanting confirmation from the club either way;

The full article (you will need an adblocker)For now, let us go back to the request of Mark Ashton. “Trust us. Do not believe what you hear and see on social media. When it is right, it will come from the football club. We will tell you what is going on.”

Multiple reports coming out now stating Kieran McKenna will stay at Ipswich. If the reports are true, that's the McKenna I know.

Re: McKenna - on his future at Ipswich Town.
I tried keeping out of posting before because all we could go on is hear say and speculation. Reading few posts really turned my stomach. I feel the hurt and anguish as much as anybody. We all feel it.
I choose to post because David Ornstein isn't one for glory headlines then falls flat on his face. He waits and vast majority of times he gets it right, lets hope so this time as well
I feel lot better now than I did few hours ago

His agent has done him proud. But what turmoil for us fans.
I await the announcement and a beaming Ashton sat alongside and happy , and very rich Kieran McKenna
.
Sod off Man Utd, Chelsea, and ESPECIALLY Brighton.

Kieran McKenna is single-handedly responsible for 12,746 hours of Town fans' lost sleep
87 soiled bedsheets
746 moistened underpants
197 headaches
and 5 divorces
Do we really want him back?

Never doubted it for a minute
Let's hope it's finally a rumour with some truth to it.
When is the end of the 'holiday' by the way, if anyone knows? I'm assuming the players are still away from the club?

Those headaches combined with divorces may be a separate issue completely.Cabanas Blue wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 4:56 pmKieran McKenna is single-handedly responsible for 12,746 hours of Town fans' lost sleep

And if the soiled bedsheets and moistened underpants was really "a thing"......., I suggest Rishi or Kier get "GP HELP" to the East Angular region added to their manifestos.

If he is indeed staying, I hope we rub salt into the wounds by taking a few scalps against the likes of Brighton come august after them coming poaching on our patch...Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 1:30 pmWordBluemike wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 12:30 pmIF, and I say IF, he could consider swapping us for Brighton then he is a wanker of the highest order. What is it scared of putting in the hard yards to establish a team you actually got to the Premier League, instead jump ship to a club NO BIGGER just a bit further ahead in the journey. Again IF this happens I don't wish him well at all, I hope they crash and burn.![]()

I think we will soon have a statement saying KMc has signed a new improved contract, he should certainly be offered one right away.
Hopefully my post taken from page 6 will be correct,

As I said recently for me the most important thing was to get this matter resolved asap whatever McKenna decided to do.
Hopefully we are now coming to the conclusion and we will get an official announcement from the club in the next few days.

Re: McKenna - on his future at Ipswich Town.
So does this mean his preferred options haven't come to fruition so it's a case of "ok I'll stay put then" ? Or was this his preferred option all along while exercising his right to hear others out ? I hope we hear something definite from the club soon to confirm the news being suggested.
This is obviously wonderful news, providing he's staying for the right reasons, this long term contract clearly means bugger all though as we've almost just found out.
But on a positive note we keep our continuity going while at the same time retaining a great Manager who will no doubt end up at one of the big clubs in due course, hopefully not for a good Two or Three years at least.
Now go and do what you do best KM, weave your magic in the Premier League with the club you should have been committed to all along in my opinion, Ipswich are in good hands and survival next season will be another massive tick on your CV.

Re: McKenna - on his future at Ipswich Town.
No ..it wasn't his preferred option Mike ..its just clubs making the usual noises to see could he be interested..and of course journalists and betting companies will do to to make a few bob...bet a lot fell for that ..we are new back in the Premier ship after 22 years..kieran will have done what no other manager could have done..that Is got 110 per cent out of what is basically a league one team with a smatherin of championship and Premier players. Albeit with not much playing Time..now he is uncharted waters. As a manager of a club..he will have spent a lot of the last week or more having meetings and talks about his plan to take us where he probably knows how far he can..so he needs to know how much will be available and within FPS RULES ..and restrictions..and what players he needs and who will go ..so all this has been going ahead. And also a new revised contract..as we were not supposed to be here at this present situation..til another year...from rumours..hes getting a 6 million a year for 5 years..he will be in the top 6 paid managers of Pl.i think it's fair to say that is worth it .considering we have what Is believed to be one of the best young managers out in England if not Europe..

Word
Not that I know what it means to post “ word”. But it seems to be used after a good post in which the person posting it has seemingly nailed it!
So WORD!
Also What I do feel, is IF we were close to losing him Ashton and his team will be building a dossier on potential targets on the eventual “ post Keiran era” …. We won’t get caught again !

Exactly! That will be a tasty one, but knowing my luck it'll be when I'm in TurkeyBlue Wilf wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 5:09 pmIf he is indeed staying, I hope we rub salt into the wounds by taking a few scalps against the likes of Brighton come august after them coming poaching on our patch...Blue Wilf wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 1:30 pmWordBluemike wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 12:30 pmIF, and I say IF, he could consider swapping us for Brighton then he is a wanker of the highest order. KM still fav for UTD at 6/4, poch is 9/4 as 2nd fav.

Re: McKenna - on his future at Ipswich Town.
As been mentioned for me Mark Ashton is tops, he is no doubt in my mind the best assort we have at Town
Yes the owners, the chairman, players and staff and the amazing supporters along with Kieran the manager are massive, but Mark Ashton is major

Re: McKenna - on his future at Ipswich Town.
I do get that......, but seeing KMcK and Mashton as equals. Both needed each other.
Had Kieron not steered the players Mashton help get ----->> then Ipswich fans turn into Bristol City fans and Mash is looking for a doctor to sow up the new arsehole Ipswich fans tore.

It just shows you what the media has the capability to do. And what it can make you believe.
