Yup, and Everton have done worse than us against easier teams and without silly errors, we'd have been in tighter matches. 3 other teams have yet to win with Wolves likely to make that 4 today.

It's very easy to get downbeat, but we're just starting to bring our new signings in to the team too, let's not start panicking and calling for players to be dropped and shouting for emergency panic buying.

Just watched our game in MOTD, and all I can say is LOL…… LOL…… LOL…..

Ipswich get a “ mention” of barely 5 secs when Szmodics scores….. Lineker says “ and Ipswich just promoted to the PL…….” The next pundit then launches into Man City again having gushed over the £bn squad for the last 5mins.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. As we all know, the PL is ALL and ONLY about the big 5 isn’t it. Even the opposition they play against are disregarded, not worthy of a mention at all in terms of their contribution in a game.

The self serving PL makes me sick frankly.

Despite my post above, I’m actually very pleased with how we did yesterday. We gifted them 2 goals, and we only lost 4-1 …. The last goal, almost insignificant tbh… and disappointed we conceeded it tbh.

But as McKenna says a big learning curve for most and we still have our strongest team to field as yet. I think we will survive. We have to ignore the big 5 tbh …. But my biggest gripe will be the bias from officials and pundits towards these big 5 and the total dismissal of Town. We’ve actually done better against these top 2 teams than many so called established PL sides.

We took away a better score there than Madrid in the champions league from last year but you can never read too much into these things.

It was great to go ahead and for smodzics to score a first for us but the dream was never going to last and probably without Haaland (who looks more like a girl than anything else) we would have got away with a more credible score or it would have been a closer contest but credit where it's due they got a player there of some caliber and ability. He made the difference and then some but for a time when we were ahead people were allowed to dream or imagine some kind of future amazing result.

Years back you can recall teams like Lincoln City taking on MCFC and beating them home and away and scoring 5, 6 goals in the process (this really happened in the recent past) and while now they got finance and money in abundance and a whole new team / club name recognition through Arab investment the only good thing that can arise from it is stopping someone else from winning the league by end of each season.

We went there, were unlikely to see victory and so it proved. Two nasty fixtures out the way against certain opposition teams for want of other words, but it's a learning experience after 20 plus years away. They were better, quicker, had the experience of winning the league and simply possess players of caliber far beyond us. It was pleasing to score anyhow, we had the temerity to go ahead and suggest a shock for all neutrals, it couldn't really last but what the hell we declared for a time at least a certain intent if nothing else.

You can see that Sammie Szmodics is a natural goal-getter, but we need more with the same ability not just one player he will get sussed and snuffed out pretty quickly, we need goals from all over the team like last season and I think once all the new players are bedded in and know each other's playing ability we will start to click like a well-oiled machine, it just needs a little patience on the supporters part, it will come just wait and see.

I am certainly not disappointed at all. There will deffo be 3 teams worse than us this season - especially when our new players kick in. I have no doubt about that! 👍

Yeah, I 'feared' for them before the season started. Leicester and Southampton have looked better than them so far.

Yes - after 2 games I am more confident than ever that we will stay up this season.
Rome was not built in a day, and we will get better as the season progresses.
