Re: January transfers
Talking of strikers and injury. Broja is out injured again, looks like we made the right choice in not signing him. ( I do feel for him and take no pleasure in him being injured)

Re: January transfers
We definitely dodged a bullet with Broja for sure. I still feel we definitely need an other striker and then we look well set.

Re: January transfers
Broja seemed to be doing a distinctly average job too, so the injury might be a bad thing for us. They're likely to now be in the same market as us, potentially fighting for the same players and getting an upgrade in the process...

Re: January transfers
I get the feeling this injury will finish him in the game unfortunately for him. They say ankle ligament , but to me it sound like that Achilles tendinopathy again.

Re: January transfers
Still have my doubts about the Philogene signing due to I feel we have paid over the odds for him and also the lack of game time he has had this season and how long it may take him to get fully match fit.
Having said that I obviously want him to prove me wrong and hopefully he will. Now to try and get in another striker before the window shuts although that is not going to be easy with several other clubs shopping in the market as well.

Re: January transfers
I sincerely hope there are more incoming players defo another out-and-out striker another midfielder and a left-back plus a load of outgoing players on loan or buy we seem to have far too many injuries with Ham Strings and groin troubles, so I hope Mark Ashton is still busy in the window

He would be awesome IMO, he is very lively, can score great goals - think of him as a Chaplin upgrade.mendipblue wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2025 7:50 amhttps://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-new ... ard-enciso. Don't know anything about this guy?![]()

Re: January transfers
On the plus side, We might at least get more free kicks from his diving skills , because he'll undoubtedly have been well very coached as a Brighton player, in those dark arts.

Looks like Al-Hamadi is on his way to West Brom on loan.

Re: January transfers
Good that he's getting his loan. If I'm honest, I'd wager he's better off with a spell in League 1 first and then perhaps Championship next season.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 11:50 amLooks like Al-Hamadi is on his way to West Brom on loan.
He needs experience, I'm not sure West Brom will give him that unless he hits the ground running, and I think the Championship is tough, that's far from guaranteed from happening.

Re: January transfers
This must indicate we are about to sign a striker then... Agree with you that he would probably have benefitted from league One loan for remainder of season, but MCK clearly thinks he can cope with Championship ...which he might do . But as you say will WBA give him game time ?
So, big question is , who is coming in??

I was thinking the same and even if he was fit Brighton would know he would not start in front of Delap.hallamblue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:11 pmRumour is we are getting Ferguson in from Brighton...but he's injured? Not sure why wed go for an apparent sick note ....

Re: January transfers
Take Arsenal out of the equation and I still wouldn't be interested, injured and a run of 33 games without a goal? No thanksBrighton's Evan Ferguson is a potential loan target for Arsenal, according to The Sun.
The 20-year-old joined the Seagulls in 2021 and despite enjoying a breakthrough season a year later on the south coast, he has since been hampered by injury.
Ferguson went 33 games without a goal which finally ended last October.
“We will negotiate what is important for him, what is important for his development, where he can improve the best and then we will make the decision together,” Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said last week.
“This decision should be what is best for the player and for the club. We sent (Facundo) Buonanotte, for example, to Leicester.
“We know that the Premier League is a very good league to improve, because it’s tough, it’s intense, especially for young players. It’s the perfect environment to adapt.
“In the end, they want to play for Brighton and we want them to play for Brighton. So, when they improve in the environment of the league where we are also playing, it’s always very helpful."

I hope to God that this is merely an idle rumour without an atom of truth in it.Bluemike wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:41 pmTake Arsenal out of the equation and I still wouldn't be interested, injured and a run of 33 games without a goal? If ever there was a classic example of a desperation signing, this would be it.

Julio Enciso will play at Ispwich Town! He is travelling to his new club to sign, be introduced and possibly already be taken into account over the weekend against Liverpool. Brighton did not want to know anything about Dortmund or another club outside if it is on loan.

Fine, loan him out to another club. We won't be held to ransom because they want him for peanuts

I agree with another comment on that link......, Tony Mowbray has walked in the door, looked at the footage and pulled the plug on the deal.
