Just what we didn’t want ….
An early ish goal
But Im SICK of the biased commentary already. FFS there are two teams playing out there today.

Re: Premier League - Liverpool FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Our midfield is the problem too lightweight, easily robbed of the ball, no link between defence and forwards ( so we’ve no hope of getting out of defence)

Had they given the f**king foul on Delap the second goal doesn't happen ffs. Awful defending from Davis though.
Just a case of trying to keep this respectable now which I very much doubt we will

delap's aggressive style keeps him from getting fouls called for him.

Re: Premier League - Liverpool FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
Our midfield i think is the problem unfortunately. Too slow, too few in numbers, easily robbed of the ball, giving zero link out of defence to the forwards, so our defence us over worked as the ball is constantly coming back at them, and our forwards are getting hypothermia Standing on the half way line in the vrin hope they might get the ball.
This is not a criticism but an observation. Rome wasn't built in a day...still WIP.

Liz its not a case of the midfield or any other individual part of the team, its the fact we are COMPLETELY outclassed in every area for the second week running, these are the best in Europe after all. It's just a different level.

Of course we're outclassed. It's a top 6 team. They're full of world class players. But our midfield is non existent so it mean the defence is over worked and the forwards may as well stay in the changing room because there's zero service / support. Our midfield is an ageing Morsy and a non performing loaned. But in truth we have absolutely no one at thus club which we can out into that midfield thst will get any better. Summer targets must be MF .... im my humble view.

Re: Premier League - Liverpool FC vs Ipswich Town Preview & Matchday Thread
I sometimes wonder why we don't play with an extra midfielder. I mean can say we play 3 - 5 - 2 - 1 but neither Davis nor Burns or whoever play right is not a true midfielder. Simply put the 3 or 5 at the back is not working. Watching us play I feel sometimes we get in each others way.. Though i'm sure not convinced Davis is a left back but if we played 4 - 3 - 3, or 4 - 3- 2 1 i'm sure our midfield would be more competitive. Midfield generally is the battleground where games are won or lost.hallamblue wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 4:54 pmOur midfield i think is the problem unfortunately. Delep needs help up front, He's isolated now, playing a flat four in midfield is basically marooning him on his own desert island in my opinion
