Just shows how cruel football can be sometimes. End the season on 90 points, 14 points more than their opponents Sunderland and not get promoted, I hate the play offs but I guess not as much as Sheffield United who’s play off record is shocking.
I wonder, has any club ever scored 90 points or more and not been promoted ?
I think not one of us in the prediction comp picked Sunderland.
Good mate/neighbour is a Blades fan and we often have a natter about the football, I was able to commiserate with him by pointing out that at least they'll get to visit Portman Road next season. Will be nice to renew an old rivalry as after all Norwich aren't really up to the task now.

Definitely a “had to be there laugh” , but got a Whatsapp text from a Sunderland supporting buddy (from Sunderland) with GIF Meme picture thing showing a Wembley celebration of QPR.
Few minutes later. “Ignore that QPR text mate. I’m wrecked.”

Maresca’s adjustments to Real Betis’ dominating performance in the first half of the Euro Conference final has gifted Chelsea the win. This is a great example of a manager changing tactics to win a match. I hope KM was watching.

Anyone watching PSG V INTER? I have unexpectedly gotten the day off, so I’m looking forward to it! Should be some great goals, hopefully.

Feel sorry for the opposition. Club names like Inter Milan shouldn't be 4 - 0 behind to an opponent in a Final of this competition, although rivals AC did win against Barcelona by the same score some years back.
Only the second French team to be Champions of Europe since tournament inception in mid-1950s. That's an incredible if absurd statistic when you think about it. Or only second time a club name from France has won it. All those years and instances from say 1956 to present time, it's ridiculous. They did it (all) without Messi and MBappe also, that's real impressive.

Biggest winning margin in competition Final history. Real hit seven back in 1960 but the opposition scored three themselves that day.
Best team won it, simple math here. Beat and eliminated a whole load of reprobates and garbage to do it, take the opportunity to wish them well.
Once again feel a level of sympathy for the Italians, they got to be shattered right now but as before the best team in this competition won it. Not even sure PSG were Champions of their respective country when this got underway, the title of competition is a f**king nonsense, but you can overlook that issue to offer plaudits and admiration for their (Paris Saint-Germain) achievement.

I expected PSG to win but not by anywhere near that margin. By far the best team in the competition this season and with such a young team and I believe 3 of their academy players too. They could easily dominate European football for the next 5 years.

PSG are true Champions of France and have been for 11 of their academy players past 13 seasons. Since 2012/13 the only seasons they’ve not won Ligue 1 was 2016/17 and 2020/21.

Incredible performance by PSG. They blew inter away, the speed they moved the ball (and themselves) was superb, worked really hard and made inter look old.
Frightening really.

No doubt at all that PSG have been the best in France for years, probably since Jean Pierre-Papin retired ……. But with Saint Jude of the Spiders in the sense that the title of the comp is ludicrous. Champions? Used to mean just that back in the day and that’s what made it great…… Who is going to be Champion of the Champions etc etc.
Think i’ll spend the day saying “Jean Pierre Papin”…… really satisfying saying it. JEAN PIERRE PAPIN!

I stopped watching when it stopped being for champions all those years ago, now it's just an uninteresting, dull, money grabbing bore fest.

I dunno it's odd innit, back in the day you could have shot a cannon down the high street during the FA Cup final and no-one would have noticed.

Just watched the highlights, more fun than the Premier League, bad luck Southend. And was that two ex-Town players scoring for Oldham?

There's millions of kids, sorry, people, not of an age to recall Oldham being a genuine force in the game when Joe Royle were in position there. It were only like 35 years back but he put together a team that for a short time could actually compete for domestic honors and were a pleasure to watch. They won the old second division year before us but wasn't long before completely falling away and they never really could hope to make it back.
They may never be a top league name again despite yesterdays promotion but they took a step in the right direction nonetheless. Southend also in the early 1990's put together a team in the old second division that could play and while it's a shame one of them had to be beaten Oldham are arguably the more recognized or established club name that are at present time better equipped to move back up through the leagues.
50,000 + if correct for a non-league play-off event is highly commendable. Guess neither team features much at the national stadium anymore, the fans have got to make the most of it, grab such an opportunity et cetera.

Will anyone be heading to the old Racecourse Ground next season for the Wrexham fixture? That’ll be a decent wee outing!!
Back in 85, (16 years old) …. The club i played for took part in a small north wales tournament. …. (We were shyte and got pumped in every game) ….., but the memorable part of the trip was a visit to the Racecourse Ground for a Wrexham v Notts County fixture. The Red Dragons were woeful.

My memory of it is more of the fans being properly ….. well, not pleased shall we say!
Be interesting to read on here if that lot have calmed the hell down as time has passed. Going to guess that the “not best pleased” fans have gone and multiplied…… might be worse!

Any ITFC fans from this site going by supporters bus —->> sit at an aisle seat! Stay away from the window. …………
………., Unless of course you believe Kieron will continue to make 65th min unnecessary subs and attack in the 92nd minute, which of course always results in defeat ——->>, then sit where you want.

I think we will play Wrexham first game of the season, but probably at home. You heard it here first

Here's something you won't see every day.
Euro Champions or not that has to have been some event. After a succession of defeats to France in major contests and tournaments going back to Euro '84, Spain have (since) gained an upper hand and gone some way to address the wrongs of previous meetings. Not only with this, but Euro semi-final last year et cetera.
Two of the most recognized heavyweight nations on the planet right now and what do you get, a 5 - 4 result contest. Incredible, pity is most would have missed it or not been aware. This should have been last years Euro Championship Final event.
