Now we finally appear to have some decent options in midfield, what can we expect from our defence?
I personally feel that our defence has been exposed for years by the lack of effective support from midfiled! I would therefore expect that given some support our defensive abilities should improve!
However, IMO we need to find a long term central defensive partner for Bam Bam. Sito looks a star and McEverly passable on the other flank, and Wilnis will provide decent cover, but DeVos looks like his fading fast to me and needs replacing ASAP!
Thoughts???
Our defence???

I have to agree with you about our defence's lack of support in recent yeras. I have for the last two seasons been banging on to any of my friends that will listen that i think we have had an adequate defense. Bam Bam constantly improving, wilnis always solid, de vos not that bad (this season his by far his worse). never been a fan of richards but hes not there anymore.
I have always believed our midfield have failed to give the defense th esupport they need. miller used to be our attacking midfielder. But you had magilton and currie both of who are not great tacklers at best and are far to slow to get back if caught forward. This has left only westlake as a midfielder you can defend and no one sees him as a defensive midfielder.
I also think our lack of a right winger with either westlake or magilton playing far too narrow has meant wilnis (and now sito) is left with all the attacking and defensive duties on the right side leaving him often overexposed.
We really could do with a new centre back and i think a right midfielder to provide a bit of balance both in attack and defense.
Although obviously im pleased with the strengthening of the midfild but im not entirely sure that the defensive problems of the midfield have been fully addressed. I hope im wrong and i am optimistic for the future esp if we could get a new centre back.
