Bjorn Runstrom has signed a new contract with Hammarby, snubbing an approach from Ipswich Town.
There was interest in the Sweden Under-21 international from Portman Road and Italy, but he has opted to extend his stay at Soderstadion.
The 21-year-old is prepared to bide his time before moving abroad.
"It feels nice that it is finally sealed," he told Hammarby's official website.
"Staying at Hammarby will be beneficial for both me and the club in the end.
"I am now hoping that it won't be three years, but that I will develop and move on.
"First, I want to win the title and become the top scorer."
Who he anyway - seems to be showing a little lack of ambition if you ask me.

Not really sounds like a level headed footballer, young under 21 players, wants to get esctablish for 3 years, and have first team action week in week out, instead of risking his carear and moving ot england or italy and getting naff all football!
wise move id say!

I agree. Probably seen what a fantastic job we've done with peter's and MacDonald. Sign tem then play the twice and if they dont win the match on their own drop them to the reserves nnot to be seen until they are going out on loan to canvey island or whoever it was. If he is getting regular first team football why move to a team where you may just end up in the reserves. 14th in the english 2nd division (championship) is not the most appealing offer from his view i would imagine.

Maybe so - have to keep our eyes peeled for his emergance as a world beater over the next couple of years - or if you read the article closely - the next few months.
Having looked at it a bit more closely it would seem he is saying 'Here I am - come get me' by making a point of advertising his staying put.
