Home draw to either Portsmouth or Sunderland was the perfect solution. We get a 24-25k gate and a good chance of winning and putting together a little earner of a run. A win against prem opposition would do the team's confidence no harm either. could see it goingto a replay as well

Your having a laugh, aren't you?
How many games have you been to in recent months? There is no way we will beat Portsmouth the way we have been playing in recent games. As for 24-25k gate, it will probably be on Sky and we won't get anything like that amount of people there. The game will be moved because Norwich are at home so could well be on a Monday evening.

Well Susie very few I'm afraid

However I do keep up and am well aware of our plight.
But cup games are one-offs and we have got 11 players that can play well when committed.
Portsmouth are, if anything, even more of a shambles than us and could well be very nervous about coming to a Champ side early in the cup.
Let's hope JR takes it seriously.

Be lucky to make it to double figures and get 10,000.
I have cup tickets on direct debit and have attended all previous cup games including yeovil this year.
Can't say I feel particularly enthusiastic about portsmouth - perhaps I could go to New Years sales shopping instead.

well going by Sheepys address to the AGM i'd guess that Royle had better take it serious.
i know we have been playing badly , but why cant we be a Doncaster, Tamworth etc , playing against a supposedly superior team. a little bit of pluck , gumption & daring do' and simply playing a little above ourselves for a change, might actually get us somewhere, instead of rolling over and playing dead as we usually do.

no luck? Tammworth have beaten 2 league teams away from home in the 1st 2 rounds and get a trip to stoke, thats no luck
we're at home, with as good a chance as anyone of getting into the next round, providing BFJ decides to actually take the greatest cup competition in the world seriously

There isn't really any reason not to put out a strong side with the club mired in the bottom half of the table. The club needs the money...

bottom line: when you're struggling in the league as we are the last thing you want is to have to play some plucky high-spirited lower league team that are up for causing an upset. it's a no-win situation because if you lose you'll be crucified, if you win no-one cares as we were expected to.
beating Portsmouth on the other hand, could be the boost we need right now. and don't give me that bullshit about not standing a chance against them - they're as bad as we are. on our day we could tear them apart.

Well the only thing right there is the lower league bit. We are neither plucky or high spirited !!

Royle being the genius he is will put out a reserve team
He has no time for the FA cup anymore. He made that clear last year!

It made sense last year when Town were 2nd in the table. It was a pointless distraction. It's a bit different this year.
Town could get into Europe
