Replay on BBC1

Post by uefacup81 » Wed Jan 07, 2015 11:25 am

So it's just been revealed that the Southampton replay on Wednesday will be covered live on BBC1. Hopefully this won't do too much damage to the attendance, given the reports of high demand for tickets. Thankfully this'll mean there'll be a chance to watch the match even if it does sell out.

Won't be shown in Scotland. We've got "Jim McColl down the allotment with his tatties"..... Should be good, I'll keep you guys posted at HT on any good tattie tips.

I have just booked my seat. In front of the 70 inch - the soaps are relegated to the small screen that night.

How much £ will the club get - will it compensate for the loss of actual bums on seats?

£72,000 each - so it'll more than make up for any shortfall. I can't see the attendance being affected by 7,200!

Before long fans from Man U, Man City and Chelsea are going to be saying "feck me Ipswich are on the telly again", when is it going to be our turn?

Didn't want to start yet another thread, so as its TV related, thought I would put it in here.

Was speaking with a fellow Hibs fan earlier about the Hibs 4-0 win over Rangers during the Xmas period. This guy knew I was abroad and so I wasn't there. We were talking about the game and he spoke about Hibs not getting a penalty decision, should've been 5-0, bla bla bla. I said to him that it was never a penalty, Handling should've stayed on his feet and maybe he would've scored. I got that irritating reply from many people......, "Were you there like?"
"No, I wasn't f**king there, but BT Sports were there with their 28 different camera angles YOU TIT! NOT A PEN!"

I hate, "were you there like?" Fk off.

It's very magnanimous of the BBC to take the time to feature us. Damn well can't recall the last time Town was shown on terrestrial television, even the recent league cup semi-final a year or two back with Arsenal wasn't shown I don't recall. (ITV didn't present either ?). Point being, we should make the most of it, as it could be a long time before we're on again. Of course we're not the stature of Manchester United or Liverpool but the saturation coverage they provide to the more recognized teams seems often asphyxiating.

It shouldn't make much of a difference to the turnout at Portman Road either. Sure it's fine to watch on screen, but you can't beat the experience of an in-attendance match day experience.

Bit expensive actually getting to the satellite, 9. And what happens if you get there and they are watching Coronation Street?

I'm more of an Emmerdale Farm enthusiast, Marko...but I wouldn't mind a bit of the old Coronation Street... :D

True story: Every time I walk past a TV and Emmerdale is on.... , Andy, the farmer guy is always in the middle of being dumped by some girl.

I bet the sheep are all hiding behind trees to get away from him.

Fox sports and NBC show no mention of a viewing, guess it's simply not big enough fish to warrant a broadcast. Lo and behold we have Manchester City / Arsenal ready to run a few days after.. Worth trying a stream, but you take your chances with those.

If the ticketing website is at all accurate, I wouldn't be surprised. Got tickets for myself and two friends, but there's nary a three-seat block to be found already!

Interesting concept, 'queueing online'. Is there a reason one can't get up and do something else? Does the website send an alarm when you are nearly at the end of the queue so you can have a nap? :D

Well it was new to me..The site said it was busy & put me in a queue, yes i could still look at other websites or nap while waiting  ..No alarm it just put me onto the page i needed to purchase tickets which are very restricted..looked at 1 seat that had blocked off view to north goal in the cobbold stand:? anyway i had 5 minutes to sort it out or be timed out.
Guess it beats queuing out in the rain for an hour. :D
