Hmmm, I will always give any player coming to Town a chance and a proper welcome, however I dont think in all the times I have seen Chaplow play I have never rrally been impressed, hopefully playing for a proper team at last will bring the best out of him.

He'll only be a backup like varney so I'm not overly bothered tbh. Mick seems to have a gift with those who aren't rated by anyone else so it'd be a shame for anyone to judge him before he's played a game.

Now... Ye see, J4CK...... You shouldn't have said that. I'm now expecting a hatrick by Chaplow against Reading tomoro when he comes on in the 87th minute.

It's not an acquisition that provides much excitement, and anticipation is at a minimum but it's only for a loan spell after all so if doesn't work out, he won't be with us for long. McCarthy has described him as a versatile, adaptable player, but Millwall wouldn't have let him out without reason. Not expecting much here but if he goes out and contributes significantly in the immediate weeks ahead then he will have proved many doubters incorrect.

I hope he does SJ, but with Bishop, Bru, Skuse etc I dont see him getting much of a look in unless we pick up injuries which we can well do without.

Let's see what the guys can do first before we condemn him, he my proove to be another Mick gem, but we do need backup at this stage of the season.

Absolutely, but it's not really about condemning him as far as my views go, it is about what I have seen over the years from him and it is fair to say he would not have been high up on my list of potential targets, I cant change my views on a player just because we have signed him. That said I am more than happy to be proved wrong and I hope I am I, iIwill always hold my hands up just as I did with Noel Hunt who's signing did not excite me one bit.

On reflection I think I must learn to trust MM more. He has brought in two very experienced if on the face of it unexciting players. But thet will blend in with the current squad seamlessly and provide decent bench / subs i think. Varney has always managed to score against us, so better he's wearing the Blue shirt I think !

Don't worry we will all love him when he comes off the bench and scores the winner at Carrot Road Sunday week.

Come on boys, it's you positive fellas who're meant to be keeping my pecker up.

After seeing the way Norwich demolished Watford and how we were struggling to score against Reading I've been dreading our visit to Carrow Road all afternoon...

Please tell me "I've got nothing to worry about, it's just one if those things that happen occasionally.

Tuesday will tell us a lot Andy, if we go out and put in a performance and gain the Three points then yes we have a chance at carrow road for sure.

On that basis I'll stay positive and wait till Tuesday night. I was/am still thinking about coming over to Ipswich for the match, but not sure if I can cope with the 142 mile journey home if we don't win.

Sorry but the swing in form of both us and scum , means only one result next w/e, and they will leapfrog us into the top 2. We can dress if up all we like. We've simply run out if steam.

It certainly feels that way Liz, but what the hell has gone wrong, I mean even our goal difference which looked competitive at the end of the year has now all but disappeared by comparison with the rest of the Top 6 teams.

Running out of steam is an apt description given that we've failed to score in four of our eight league games since Jan 1, whereas in December alone we banged in 13.

It isnt a case of what has gone wrong, nothing has gone wrong, we didnt play well and we lost a game of football, nothing more, nobody was concerned last week at fulham were they ??? 4000 fans singing "Norwich City, we're coming for you" and all of a sudden it is game over already, bloody hell it is feast or famine with Town fans and nothing in between. I bet anyopne you wont get the kn ee jerk panic on Bournemouth or Middlebrough or watford forums that we will get here and elsewhere, it actually becomes quite amusing and a little bit sad in truth.
Just who do we think we are ??? Yes it was a chance missed and of course it is disappointing, top six was always our realistic target, anyhting else would be an incredible bonus and the last time I looked we were 4th and a massive 3 points of the auto spots so come on people some perspective is needed. Yes we must win Tuesday I for one believe we will. As we have already lost the local derby game there is little point on the players turning up is there ? If that is the case lets not be down on them if they dont try, seeing as we seem to give up after every negative result.

All Town fans are doing is trying to believe something good might finally happen. Unlike the vast majority of clubs in this division, Town fans have had literally ferk all to cheer about for nearly 15 yrs. Now after a couple of seasons of steady progression and spending almost the whole of this season in the top 3, fans can see the light going out at the final hurdle......

It's the hope that kills!

Depends how you look at it. At least there's been some end of season play-off involvement or even a league cup run that took us to the semi-finals but in the bigger picture, you're right. It's been largely garbage for the last 14 years with little to get excited about and now we have an opportunity to achieve something once again, even that is now in jeopardy.

One of my biggest concerns is McCarthy may just leave for elsewhere should we not get a promotion this season and that would be a real shame as I've always believed in him and he's a good name to have on board, but he could be tempted away, although I do believe he will be in charge for at least another season. If at first you don't succeed..

Whilst you can never say never. Id be very surprised if Mick walked away from Town. He's a loyal manager and his record speaks volumes. In think He's only had 3 clubs and one International job. He's a stayer and as long as he continues to have this apparently good working relationship with Marcus, I think this Club will continue to grow and develop further than it has to date under MM and TC.
