Hats off to Smith. We have been really critical of his performance.
Bara also was standout today

I cannot fkn believe this! YESSSSS!!!!

Well done MM/TC (why this can't happen more often is beyond everyone) ...., sounds like ITFC bossed the majority of the game.

AND......., big enough to say, hats off to all you "believers"..... The club needs that type of supporter. Had the Town down for a fkn pasting.

Mick McCarthy....... Stop turning me into a pessimistic bstd. More of today's sh*t please.

Can't wait to read the reports but this looks to be a great tactical achievement by MM keeping their shots on target to zero, surely this must be the first time any team have achieved this playing Watford this season.

What a brilliant result and so unexpected too for most of us.

Must learn to have more faith.

As soon as Chaplow got the ball you knew there was only 1 place it would end up.

In truth Watford did carve out one or two good chances in the second half but they just couldn't get it on target. And we bossed them for long periods. Back four and especially Scuse were all excellent today but really it was a great performance throughout the team. Did Bru look like he had a niggle when he came off? If so it's the only negative.

MOM? Maybe Scuse, maybe Smith. Tough call.

Seems to be regular event for the top 2 at the start of the day to lose. Everyone is getting nosebleeds from the altitude.

It's Bournemouth's turn next :D

Oh we of little faith!??

Fantastic performance, some excellent individual performances - Smith, Berra Scuse, Bru - but an OUTSTANDING team performance, including MM and TC.

I suspect most folks would have had us losing today, so go for it James and we can do to Bournemouth what we just did to Watford

Could this be the win to seal the deal of a top 2 for us?

Judging how this thread is blowing up more than any other I have seen, maybe the mighty momentum is in our favor and just at the right time!

Highlights pllleeeeeaaase

Maybe the 'nerves' were a good kick up the arse. Great win, but it doesn't take away from previous poor performances. Question is, can we be consistent for the rest of the season. If we beat Bournemouth, I will happily remove the foot from my mouth and FedEx it to Bluemike! :D

Still a long way to go even if we beat Bournemouth. As they say, 'one game at a time'. Hopefully MM & TC have been talking about us being the underdogs as a way to calm the nerves. It certainly was a nerveless performance today.

Made the ultimate sacrifice to miss the second half but can't believe we stole it at the end. A draw would have been very commendable and provided enough confidence, but to take all three points is a f**king marvel.

So much for a five or six goal beating as some went as far to believe

Yes it's a great result, rightfully deserved from what I caught from the game and supporters will savor this moment for days to come but let's not distract from the time ahead - and what needs to be done in the rest of this season.

Times like this you can't comprehend how the team can put in lackluster performances, pick up disappointing results against lower league opposition, and then play well and beat one of the auto favorites at their own venue. How the f*ck does that work.

Into the play-off zone once again as other promotion chasers feel the heat. Well done to all involved at Vicarage Road today.

For reasons too complicated to explain I was in the Sir Elton John stand today. Comments from Watford supporters included:

"Their back 4 look really solid"

"they are winning everything in the air"

I must admit I was settling for a draw when suddenly the ball gets to Chaplow. Then everything seemed to go into slow motion and I even had time to think " a player with your experience should be able to score from here - YES - you can!

Happy days indeed!

A late winner, a clean sheet away against a free scoring side, back in the top 6 and a sh*t load of bitter Watford fans.

What a great day.

Wow Wow Wow what a day. Started it off by feeling so ill and thinking was i even going to make it to Watford. But boy am i glad i did. Before the game people around me were nervous and all i could hear was "oh we will lose" "it's going to be a car crash".

First half we started off ok had a few chances but the vital part was we didn't let Watford have a shot on goal. For all our trying though we couldn't get a shot on goal either. We kept giving the ball away far too much and simple passes were missed.

2nd half we came out fighting and were well on top of Watford going forward. I was screaming for Sears to come on because we needed his pace but in all in all i was happy with the subs MM made as the half progressed. As it got closer to the end i had resigned myself to a draw. A well earned draw which i was happy with. Murphy had a brilliant chance to make it 0-1 but he just left it too late and he was blocked by the Watford player. And then it happened the magic moment. Sears got the ball from the Watford player and bombed forward.

As soon as Chaplow got the ball there was only 1 place it was going. Bang in the net and 0-1 que jubilant scenes for us fans. I was jumping around screaming and cheering all the time thinking "What just happened", "Am i dreaming".?. Barely enough time for the restart and the ref blew for full time.

All in all a well deserved win and i just hope we can take this into the Bournemouth game and get something. I had resigned myself to thinking we wouldn't make playoffs but after today i started to believe again.
