Bring back Gerken and drop Tommy for the playoffs? play Parr right back and move chambers into the middle?

I have since watched more of the game and I don't think I could spot any problems with Bailkowski. Unless I missed a howler? So, no to Gerken.

Tommy seems to be a regular starter no matter what, so not sure it's even worth discussing. I suppose the club have made the play offs with him in defence, (as I'm sure many a mature fan will point out) ...... The fans must hope that Norwich don't get many corners!

Although i am concerned about Chambo at right back, and Smith on the wrong side if CB pairing, I wouldnt changd things at this stage. That should be the plan for next season, where ever we are.

Absolutely not. Suicide to change the back 4 after 46 games.

As above really , no change at this point in time , but certainly look for a proper R/B for once...how many years have we not had one now...surely it will be addressed..unless Hewitt steps up ??

Nothing wrong with BB - no need to change.

Unless injuries happen, then cannot see MM altering what has become his set-in-stone defence; albeit I believe it has cost us over the course of the season. Being a naturally cautious bunny, don't believe he would take the risk when the stakes are so high etc; and he certainly ain't likely to do anything that might suggest others know best! As HB says, it's something for the close season, but it does need to be sorted once and for all.

Am unsure, however, whether JP is suited to a right mid role. Understand why MM has done it - to provide cover for Chambo - but I think he's more effective on the left - he and TM linked well together in the past.

No doubt MM and TC will be checking their clip boards and sucking on their pencils at the training ground this week! But let's be genuinely pleased and excited that the fat lady hasn't made it onto the stage just yet! :D

Despite the continual errors at the back I too would not be keen on seeing changes at this stage and as others have pointed out we are where we are with this back four. I do agree with Herforder regarding parr on the Left ahead of Mings though, that was looking very potent at times and may be worth reverting back to. After yesterday I really don't want to see Hunt start against Norwich, I thought he was woeful.

Get Chaplow on instead of Hunt , he battles and has displayed some quality..not sure it would suit Bru on the flank..but i like him as a player..Reg is also a option & maybe better than Chaplow??

Totally agree Mike can't think of a thing he did right.
With the sort of day he had yesterday it wouldn't surprise me he didn't go in the wrong dressing room at the end of the game!

No good can come from experimenting at this point, just stick to what we know and we'll have the best chance.

So Long as Varney & Chappers are available, and please not S Hunt, absolute pish, but yes Parr in front of Mings a deffo, I would like to see a quicker winger but that wont happen, just have to make sure we come out fighting against the scum, I'm sure Mick will have worked out a hard way to do it, but he has got a good track record with Wolves & Sunderland getting promoted, and I still think he's on a million pound sweetner if we get promoted

parr must not be played in midfield he has a shocking pass to a player rate ,smith is a liability and norwich will know that

I would love to move Chambo CB and play Parr RB. However I just don't see it happening.

Keep Bartosz in goal.

I think that most of us here would agree that Chambo is no right back.
I have been of the opinion all year that playing Chambo ts right back disjoints the whole of the defence. Because as well as not having a true full back on the right, it also means that a left-sided CB is played on the right side.
The proof of this, I feel, is in our still shambolic defending.
However, I'm not too sure that changing things now is the answer.

IMO the competition now changes and becomes a cup not a league and this means that managers will have been planning adjustments that will wrong foot the opposition. I think we might expect one or two surprises. However I don't expect those surprises to be in defence since they key to a successful defence (again IMO) is the kind of understanding that comes from playing together week in and week out.

That's the theory! Last Saturday was the exception...

On my knees, praying, that over 180 minutes of football, if any goals are conceded, that they are not memorable defensive gaffs. I'll never forget Delaney against NCFC in 2010.

Mick WILL be working on the defence after the Blackburn game. Must be.

Also remember that game Marko - for all the wrong reasons. If somebody had told me at that time that Mr Delaney would become a regular PL CH I would gave called for the van and men in white coats to take them quietly away! To torture an old Paul Jewell quote, that was his day for looking like a panel beater. :astroll:

Let's just play the same team that beat Brentford 4-2 away. Swapping DM for FS.

Easy.
