Not even thinking about next seasons fixtures right now, last season has only ended a week or two back and think the release of what's to come from August in a day or two is simply too premature.

Way I see it, don't really have a preference of who we play and when we play them. Let's face it, we're going to have to play all the teams at some point or another, so guess we'll just face whoever comes first and take it to the next game.

Gave a thought to the fact that there will be no East Anglian derby this time, but given our recent record against that shower, perhaps it's just as well we will avoid them. Yes some will be disappointed, but to be truthful, not going to miss them by any distance.

Is it just me, or does this look a very tough League this coming season. I can't see many easy games there. :(

Well Sheff Wed and MK Dons as first and last home games sound decent on paper but as you say this league is really tough and there are no "easy games"

That's the first thing I noticed, Lucy. Does look like a tough season as well. We better strengthen if we want 'automatic'!

Never is an easy game in this division Charny. We have yet again a hard run in I think!

I am pretty happy with the way the fixture list has panned out, a tricky start maybe but August gives hope of early points on the board, Burnley at home looks a tough one but Sheff Wed and Brighton at home are not to be feared while Preston and Brentford away should yield something.

October and December could be pivotal months for us, both look testing, a good haul of points here and we could be in a strong position, Xmas has been kind to us for a change with home games although Derby & QPR will be hard, these are followed by Brighton away. The run in through April looks challenging to say the least and the games against Charlton Brentford Sheff Wed and MK Dons will need to be won as Wolves Fulham and Boro will be hard. We then end the season at Derby, my favourite and lucky ground, this is where we clinch promotion.

On a personal level I am also pleased that while I am away in Spain I won't miss any home games as we are away to Reading & Leeds over that period.

I think it's far too early to begin postulating on what games look easy and what games look hard, on where we should be picking up points etc.
We none of us know what additions are going to be made to the various squads, and in my mind every game looks difficult at the moment and we'd better make some quality acquisitions to our squad if we want to have a hope of promotion. Things will, of course, look a lot clearer 6 weeks into the new season.

maybe but with the odd exception we all pretty much know already that the Derby's Boro's Burnley's etc will be up there while the Sheff Weds, Bristol City's and Rotherham's wont be. As to every game looking hard, they did last season too, I bet there isnt one single club in this division looking at the fixture list and pinpointing their game against us as a certain Three point return.

do not agree at all - nobody gave Bournemouth a prayer before the start of last season. And I do not believe any other clubs are looking at the fixture list and pinpointing games against any other team - well, not the sensible ones anyway: they will be quietly adding to their squads, developing their own general game plan and style according to their strengths, and making sure that other teams worry about them come the start of the season.

Of course, some of our rivals have already added to their squads and will be able to start on the process of developing immediately - as usual we have no such luxury, I guess we'll wait until a week or 2 before the season starts and see what cheap square pegs we can pick up and then fit them into round holes

A few people did give bournemouth a huge chance, Hallam for one who said they were her favourites for promotion, naturally there will always be the odd one who springs a surprise but by and large you just have to look at the bookies odds to plot who will finish in what section of the league table.

As for the teams making early signings, yes a lot did last season too and nearly all of them finished below us, we wnet about our business quietly and slowly and pretty much got it right, I seem to recall Derby, Fulham, Reading and one or two others being linked with every player and his dog and look where it got them, some of these teams need a massive rebuild, we don't, we need 3 or 4 players to compliment an already very solid squad so there is no need to rush or panic buy, who is to say we don't have players lined up anyway, Mick is hardly the kind to shout it from the rooftops, he goes about it quietly and suddenly it happens, that's fine by me.

Apart from Chambo I don't see what square pegs we had in round holes last season, I would rather look upon it as versatile players who can play different roles, take Varney for instance, played most of his career as a striker but came in, played wide a fair few times and didnt disappoint once, we are what we are and that is what delivered us such a enjoyable and successful season, I see no reason for it to be any different this time around, with the impending emergence of Connolly and the hopeful arrival of Maitland-Niles that's Two wide options we didnt have last season already in potentially in place so I see things happening already.
