FFS
I had a few £ on Town winning.
How the hell you can be 2-0 up in the 91st minute and FCUK it up?

Conceding in the 92nd & 96th minutes smacks of a total lack of concentration.

Hopefully a very early season lesson learned.

No one can blame a ref with a dodgy watch

Shocking to concede 2 goals that late on, perhaps the inexperience of the new defenders showing

Can somebody explain what the bloody hell occured in those last two minutes. Feels almost like a loss.

Ok in the end they were always ahead in terms of possession and got back into it with chances created but even so to lose two goals at the very end is approaching unprintable. Maybe got too complacent with time running out and thought it was a done deal ? Yes there were added time for injuries but should have kept them out regardless.

Going to be interesting with McCarthy's views on this late capitulation. On paper alone it's a decent score against a team that did well last time out but to allow them back in at such a late stage of the game, going to leave it at that before saying something we'll later regret.

Like I said in pre season(which someone had a go at)we need to tighten up and stop given stupid late goals away, its been going on now for 3 seasons FFS. No one has ever scored a goal from row Z or from your opponents corner flags. This is school boy stuff. :x

First post. BBQ Coles looking good... Beers flowing... sun shining,.Town dominating ... Two goal advantage... Mood seriously great.... so why when it comes to injury time do I not feel comfortable.... because this happens time and time again. Love Mick... given our club back stability and something to be proud of... but close the game out!!!!!!! Never give him them a sniff!!! Feel sorry for travelling Town support... I feel like it's a defeat !!!!! It's happened time and time before , this is nothing new.

It looks like Tommy Smith allowed the striker to get the wrong side of him for the first, and GK panicked for the second.

Why of why can't we close games out in the final minutes.

Definitely two points lost this afternoon.

Massive positives from 95% of today's performance - but overshadowed by inexplicably turning into a panicky pub team for the other 5%. It's happened before, and each time the mantra is that lessons will be learnt: we're obviously slow learners. Without over doing the criticism, our potential lack of resilience/mental toughness when under any sort of sustained pressure needs to be addressed. (Oh, and get the Southend keeper in! ). Hopefully the 2 points thrown away today won't come back to bite us on the bum come May.

Just got home and i don't know where to start. Tale of 2 halfs i think. First half we started off ok and had a couple of shots. Then we let Brentford come far up the pitch and our defence was just letting them in time after time. They had good chances to score goals and we had Bart Man to thank for keeping out Jota's goalbound header. Town's first goal came from excellent pressure on Brentford's goal, Frazer struck the ball hitting the inside of the post before it flew across the area to Emmanuel. Kevin Bru scored with spectacular fashion from Emmanuel's Pass.

2nd half was started off brilliant with the 2nd goal. Sears from a Bru pass was free to bomb down the pitch with the Brentford GoalKeeper Button coming out to stop him. Sears cleverly passed the ball across the area and Frazer open on goal had only 1 place to put it. 2-0 up and comfortable the Town fans were in full voice.

As the game wore on towards the end it looked like a comfortable 2-0 win. Town were defending well and trying to increase the lead. Extra time came around and we had 5 minutes to see out the game. 92 mins and Brentford made it 2-1 cue the nerves from the Ipswich Fans. As the minutes wore on and fans were calling for the whistle to be blown, Brentford made it 2-2 from a corner. A rather annoying end to what had been so far a comfortable game.

To sum it all up we deserved to win and should of but our defence was weak at times and we panicked towards the end. Our 2 goals were superb we just need to work on the defence i think. Roll on next week for the 2 homes i'd be happy with 4 points from them.

COME ON THE TOWN.

Just back from the game and it was so so near. For 92 minutes we pretty much controlled the game, Brentford started well for the first 15 mins but after that it was pretty much Town on top and calling the tune, naturally it feels like a defeat at this moment in time but for me there are far far more positives than negatives. I guarantee Brentford will not lose many games at home, nor will they be outplayed for long spells as we managed today. Most will see it as two points lost and of course it is but there were scores of fans in the pub before the game saying what a great point it would be if we could get it.

The positives for me were the performances of kevin Bru, who was my man of the match, Maitland-Niles and Fraser had very good games too and caused them a fair few problems while young Emmanuel got over a shaky first 15 minutes to put in a very sound and promising display, for the most part Smith did well too, I need to see the first goal again before laying blame on him because i thought it was Chambers that was out of position leaving Smith to try and cover the other side of the CB positions.

Clearly the negaives were the failure to see the game out after leading 2-0 with 92 minutes on the clock, also MM's substitutions were a bit odd and smacked of shutting up shop and dropping deep, had he kept Niles & Fraser on it would have enabled us to continue to go forward instead. The biggest thing for me was the loss of Bru, I am convinced we would have won that game had he not got injured and had to go off, we lost control of the centre of the field at that point which heaped pressure on us.

For me it was a very pleasing start with lots of positive signs and definitely encouragment for the long haul ahead, we still have Berr, Bishop and Parr to come in too, we have gone to one of the top Five fancied sides and but for 2 dreadful minutes bossed them. Some will see it as a bad day and others as a good day, yes I am disappointed with the final score but well happy with much of what I saw. As for the fans, fantastic noise and atmosphere today.

Positives were the new Players played very well indeed. Knudsen and his throw ins were immense.

All of the positives, Mike, were completely undone by a tactically inept muppet of a manager who completely changed the course of the game - yet again - with his ridiculous substitutions. It does not bode well.
