Re: Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich Town preview and match thread
having just watched extended highlights of this game, what a great part tommy smith played in this goal.a drop of a shoulder a slide rule pass to bru,not a aimless hoof.
then feeny and dozzell took over from bru's pass to combine for the goal.even the sheff wed commentator was impressed with smith's part.this wasnt mentioned in the 2 match reports.the other thing it showed was pitmans outburst.that was all wrong it didnt look a simple pass to make to him.bet if the position was reversed he would have had a shot to.

Local radio commentary certainly highlighted TS's part in the goal - displaying an ability to create from defence, pass thru midfield etc. Not seen too often, but resulting in a good team goal with some fairytale sparkle to boot!. As for BP's over-reaction - not condoned, but fully understood. Knudsen was never going to score, he made the wrong decision. But guess next time he won't!jaykay wrote:having just watched extended highlights of this game, what a great part tommy smith played in this goal.a drop of a shoulder a slide rule pass to bru,not a aimless hoof.

Pitman had every right to be furious, it was bloody selfish and stupid from knudsen, and yes it was a relatively easy pass for a professional footballer to have made.

it happens in every game and if i remember rightly a certain mr pitman did exactly the same at wolves, try to score when a much simplier pass than knudsens, would have put feeny in. that was selfish to,and a relatiively easy pass to make as well.
anyway will miss the rest of the season as off to lithuania tomorrow, but hope ipswich carry on like they did in the sheff game.prehaps not as skuse will be back

Well tha'ts ok then, but for me 2 wrongs don't make a right, anyway it's gone now and nothing any of us can do about it apart from realise that sometimes it is the players that f*ck up and not MM because on the 2 instances that we have just mentioned alone we could well be looking at 6 more points and all to play for.

this is one reason why - in numerous debates on here over the season - I have always advocated playing TS instead of Berra at left CB.jaykay wrote:having just watched extended highlights of this game, what a great part tommy smith played in this goal.a drop of a shoulder a slide rule pass to bru,not a aimless hoof.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that TS is a far better ball player than Berra could ever hope to be.

That may be the case, but even though Berra may not be the better ball player, he is fully committed to the cause. Tommy is liable to Shyte a brick on occasion; evident twice this season in live games. Let's not completely wade into Berra with all that "can ever hope to be" bullshit. ....... He's still a decent CB.

Re: Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich Town preview and match thread
I think it is true to say that Tommy Smith has been the better CB this season and by and large has cut out the silly errors that for many seasons has blighted his career, however I am somewhat amazed that one measly ball out of defence which started our move from which we scored is being lauded as something fantastic, one bloody ball in how many seasons ? This should be happening nearly every game and then maybe we would be scoring more. I don't think this is something to be pleased about, it is kind of embarrasing in fact that we are talking about the only time it has happened for god knows how many seasons.

To be perfectly frank, Marko, I would say that 99% of the bullshit on this board emanates directly from youmarko69 wrote:That may be the case, but even though Berra may not be the better ball player, he is fully committed to the cause. yeah, I did mean it. What do you expect if you insist on referring to my words as bullshit?marko69 wrote:At least most of my bullshit is tongue in cheek nonsense......., you f**king meant that ^^^!rossi wrote:TS is a far better ball player than Berra could ever hope to be.
As most people on here can't really decipher a Scottish accent, maybe you should make more use of the smileys so that we know when you're comments are tongue-in-cheek?

Re: Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich Town preview and match thread
I wasnt expecting anything really. Just trying to not sway fans thinking into Berra being poor, because he's not. This place is full of sheep who follow, unlike yourself and a few others. Yes, Berra being poor is your opinion, but that was me defending the Hearts b*stard!rossi wrote:What do you expect if you insist on referring to my words as bullshit?
