Prediction League 2017/18
Hey guys and girls
Hope you are all having a great summer (I am having a sh1t winter in case anyone is interested)
So ..... who is up for this years Prediction League where you can battle each other for 2nd place, as will no doubt win it?
This season, there will be the TB Cup and the Individual competition (with hopefully a couple of Leagues to keep it interesting).
Please just add your name to this thread so Andy & Mike can include you.
It would be great to see some new faces!
cheers Dave

For Auckland it's bloody cold. Like single digit.
Although the last few days have been mid teens which is not so bad for mid winter
You taking a summer break Liz?

No hard and fast 1 or 2 weeks away this summer Dave. I was never able to go anywhere much over last decade tbh as was FT carer gir my mum. Unfortunately she died this Feb. And although i am now "free" to do mord things now, any friends I would have gone away with are already booked up for this year. I suspect I'll do something next year......maybe visit some old coffee in Auckland lol .....dont worry , you're safe. I can't afford the flight!!

Really simple mate, each week 16 fixtures are posted up and you just put your score predictions against them, Andy and myself do the rest with the scores/ tables etc. It's good fun and only takes 5 minutes a week to join in, it's so simple you will soon pick it up, even Marko does itipswichtownNo1 wrote:I will give it a go. Yes ITNO1, and if you average 7 points a week, you'll finish well above me.

Re: Prediction League 2017/18
It would certainly be nice to see a few new faces especially those committed to play all season.
Anyone with views on the Comp staying as it was last season or suggestions on any changes to freshen things up, feel free to comment sooner rather than later as we'd like to get the first weeks fixtures up two weeks before kick off to accommodate anyone on holiday.

Re: Prediction League 2017/18
The three competitions ------> are all ok in my opinion,....... if any were to be binned, it'd be the team comp, but with only two scores being counted, it wasn't too bad last season.
The questions -------> The only thing I'd change would be the bonus question. Bin that for the two jokers of choice format, jokers obviously limited to scorelines only, not bonus questions. But I'm guessing I might be in the minority with that.

To those who participate, is there any obligation to remain with it the entire duration or can you drop out at any time ? Will give it some thought and decide on direction in a short time. May be worth trying something different as believe never participated in this here competition.

I had to drop out last season because of work commitments and other issues. I wouldn't worry about offending anyone if you do drop out...life is life.saint jude wrote:To those who participate, is there any obligation to remain with it the entire duration or can you drop out at any time ? Don't listen to 9, SJ...... everyone will be deeply offended if you drop out. But a little bit cowbell ..... and it's all cool.
The reaper was on the radio one day this week........ broke a pen off the van window trying to make the cowbell noise.

Can't remember if I told you, but I met Will Ferrell several years ago. All I could think about was that bloody cowbell!marko69 wrote:Don't listen to 9, SJ...... everyone will be deeply offended if you drop out. But a little bit cowbell ..... and it's all cool.

Re: Prediction League 2017/18
I think if i met Ferrell, he'd kick me in the nuts before I had a chance to tell him what I was laughing at!
Seriously though, SJ, Trev and whoever else……., need more prediction league participants for the post week discussion. We NEED someone to rival Lucy Lou and her, "if another goal was scored, i'd have got double points" banter!

Re: Prediction League 2017/18
One small suggestion, Charny and Bluemike. Since we're not having the team competition maybe we can create an indvidual team name, so we're not just using our forum name. For example,
Prem League
1. SHEEP CHASER UTD, managed by Frosty
2. MORNING WOOD ATHLETIC, managed by Charnwood
3. BLUE BALL CITY, managed by Bluemike
4. LUCY TOWN, managed by guess?
5.

I'm in
(missed last few weeks with job change and new house - plus my team hardly posted preds so wasn't letting anyone down).
£20 says I beat bluemike

Re: Prediction League 2017/18
It'd be great to be a consistent top 10 player to be able to join in on this banter.
Any barrel bottom scrapers care to join me in some banter?
"So whats it like to be 19th ya bawbag...., feeling dizzy here in 16th!"
That ^ type of thing.
16th?! aye right!
