Yep good stuff, 9. Last night, had a start date for a new boiler for a woman all set for Monday, June 18th. After reading the above, that’ll be getting changed to the 19th. Nothing worse than having work to do on a day when a home nation is playing in a tournament.
Edit: That ^^^ sounds crazy. What I mean is; work that needs completed. There is a certain pressure added when you know you need to get finished for something.
Can see the headline:
MAN IN “SEE YOU JIMMY” BUNNET CAUSES EXPLOSION AS HE RUSHES HOME FOR ENGERLAND GAME

This just in, the US National team spent Memorial Day preparing for the World Cup by attending local furniture sales in their areas and purchasing new couches.

Too late, Ohio. We’ve been buying all the couches for 20 years. There are none left.

9.
You have won "the jaw dropping post of the day" award.
The videos look very real, but its got to be bullshit?
If that is real , there is no hope. The world is over.

I think it's pretty much accepted that there will be a lot of Anti English sentiment amongst young Russians who will almost certainly be out on the streets looking for trouble.
As I understand the FA have warned players families that they can't guarantee their safety and many have cancelled their travel plans despite it possibly being the only opportunity they will ever have to see a family member play in a World Cup, how sad is that.
In my opinion given their horrendous record of hooliganism and racism these finals should never have been awarded to Russia who will no doubt use the event a a propaganda exercise.
I just hope and pray that all our fans return home safely.

Yes, hope everyone remains safe and keeps themselves out of danger. The only good thing about fans violence is water cannons blasting people down the street on the News at Ten...... that always looks fun......... but apart from that; NO to violence.
Regardless of the fact that Scotland haven’t made the finals for 20 years, I usually still get a bit excited about the World Cup.
BUT, it’s two days away and couldn’t really give a sh*t. And all of my buddies have the same feeling. Can’t figure out if it’s the tournament itself that’s at fault or we are all just getting older and grumpier and want to moan.
Having said that......, looking forward to Portugal v Spain on Friday.

I think anyone in their right mind would never consider Russia or Qatar as hosts. It’s pretty transparent that they only got the finals through corrupt means.Charnwood wrote:I think it's pretty much accepted that there will be a lot of Anti English sentiment amongst young Russians who will almost certainly be out on the streets looking for trouble.

Another side to this is our fans will also be targeted because of our own history of hooliganism ... the minority who just go for the fighting and f*ck it up for everyone else. I can’t help think a lot of these ‘hard men’ might just decide to stay home because they’ll know they’ll get their arses kicked by the Russians.

I don't fault you for it, got no real interest in it this time around. Last World Cup (on a personal aside) that caused any interest was South Africa '10 and if memory serves the showpiece event was two sides attempting to kick the sh*t out of each other before one goal made the difference amid a contest of otherwise forgettable tepid play. A carbon print of 1990 if you will.marko69 wrote:Yes, hope everyone remains safe and keeps themselves out of danger. As someone put it, Russian's being given the vote to begin with was a regrettable decision and how many respective fans countries can you feasibly envisage making the trip over. No US team involvement (not that we were going to make any damn impact) or Netherlands or Italy with it.
Get it out the way, a few weeks rest and back to domestics. Prefer it in those odds years when the summer is free of all associated "football" and no competition is prevalent. Once you could get involved in these things i.e. there was element of a multitude of feelings and sensation : such times have passed, say again just get the f**king thing over and done with.
Guess for people who don't like the game or World Cups as a whole, the four weeks to come or however long, could seem like a lifetime. It'll pass, time will always prove a determining factor.

Re: World Cup 2018 (All World Cup Chat Exclusively Here Please).
Spanish national team have fired their (ex) manager Julen Lopetegui within hours of the next tournament. They took the decision after the aforementioned disclosed his agreement to join up with Real Madrid following Zidane's departure.
Lousy f**king timing : only going to cause unrest in the camp and having the players adjust to a different team coach with near zero hours for preparation. Former Madrid star Fernando Hierro will take interim position but for sure (this turnaround / confusion) will play an adverse role on a squad many insist are one of the tournament favorites.
Obviously got some partiality for team/s involved here, but the way this has come around and the manner those involved have sought their objectives, is for sure ill-advised.

The Saudis defence was paid handsomely to lose. They were too good in qualifying to be that Shyte against “do not embarrass us on our home turf” Russia.
Didn’t think the conspiracy theories would start so soon.
