Well he can cover LB. Weve also brought in another defender in Vincent Young. I don’t know much about him, but Spurs have just given him a new contract so they must think something of him. At League 1 level he could be an exceptional player needing lower level experience. We desperately need a striker.... totally agree on that. We’ll have to see him play, but it sounds like decent cover whilst injured wide players (Garbutt, Sears, Lankester) are out and perhaps back-up /replacement for Kenlock. I’ll give benefit of the doubt for now.AylesburyBlue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:03 pmPanic buy in a position that isn’t a priority. Defender and striker are more essential. Maybe... but we’ve had good un’s in the past from the PL with Fraser, Lawrence, Celina, Collonly, Carter-Vickers, Pennington dropping down to the Championship ... so hopefully he’ll be one of those instead of a Conor Grant or a. Jordan Graham. We’re also playing in League 1 now.AylesburyBlue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:56 pmThese top clubs now a days offer players like this deal to keep the U23’s ticking over....tangfastic wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:16 pmWell he can cover LB. A kind of strange signing but perhaps he can offer us what Judge can't. The latter being poor so far this season is really puzzling for me.AylesburyBlue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:03 pm

It's so apparent we need a striker and sale of Harrison has been unaccountable unless there was something behind the scenes that we don't know.
We also need a left back as we can't rely on Kenlock.

He's a striker, but to my eye a fairly average one, decent in the air and quick, but pretty unsure on his quality...K L Blue wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 11:41 amhttps://charlton.vitalfootball.co.uk/co ... wich-town/

Town sign Will Keane.....
can he stay fit? If so bargain! If not, waste of time.
Is it worth the risk with an already injury hit squad? I’m not sure.

What a surprise.
If fit.... a decent player. Quality’s not in question.... but how many games can we get out of him?
I think I would have preferred a deal until January due to his fitness, but at least we’re not lumbered with him on a 2 or 3 year deal.

He looked good as a big man leading the line with what I saw of him.
Doesn't need to be haring around the pitch as a lone front man though as this gives him more potential to 'break'.
Norwood or Jackson beavering around him like irrepressible terriers could be just the ticket.
Ever hopeful!

A good signing if he stays fit and it is a big IF, it's like Buses nothing then three one after another, I think PL has been waiting for him as when fully fit could be the last piece of the jigsaw.

How long before he joins the others on the treatment table?
I will be amazed if we get many games out of him and how long is it going to take for him to get up to match fitness considering he has had no pre-season at all? For me it appears to be a case again of getting desperate and ending up making a panic signing.
Hope I’m wrong but can see this backfiring big time.

I’m not sure about panic signing. Lambert clearly rates him. I’ve always had a feeling Keane might end up back here. I hope he’s gone through a decent medical. Surely, though, it’s going to take a while for him to get up to match fitness. Has he been training with anyone in pre-season? Hull? Can’t see him being match fit for weeks without a pre-season.Shed on tour wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 3:29 pmHow long before he joins the others on the treatment table?

Although PL rates him I can’t for the life of me think that due to his injury record he would have been his main target. I still feel that it is a case of not being able to get other players to sign for whatever reason. Anyhow, we will never know. As you say I can’t see him being match fit for quite a while and Keane has said he expects he will have to play some under 23 games to get up to match fitness. Hopefully he won’t get injured doing this!tangfastic wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 4:00 pmI’m not sure about panic signing. Lambert clearly rates him. After spending the first half of the campaign with Abderden the versatile attacker was then loaned out to Dundee where he scored his trio of goals.
Ipswich made a move for the versatile attacker last term but saw their approach rebuffed by The Dons.
SunSport understands Portman Road chiefs have now re-ignited their interest but face competition from Sunderland.
Both English sides look to take the Scot - who can play out wide or in the No10 - on a permanent deal.

I can't see why we would need him, low scoring and had a knee injury I hope it's not true.

Emmanuel looks to have no future here... so best he leaves.
I can’t see many more leaving. Wouldn’t mind Dobra or El Mizouni getting league experience elsewhere, but with cup games and injured players, i can’t see it happening.
In January, depending on how we’re going and if we’ve got fit players and no more injuries, then I could see us trying to offload players. For example, I don’t see a way in for a player like Roberts, but atm he’s needed for cover. I think there’s going to be a lot of midfielders not getting sufficient game time as well so maybe they’ll be loaned out or moved on.
