Clarke in Squad for Cardiff

Academy striker Billy Clarke has been named in the Town squad for Monday's live Sky game at Cardiff City (Sky Sports One, KO 7.45pm). Clarke, 17, has impressed in the U18s and reserves this season.

Squad: Bowditch, Currie, Clarke, De Vos, Forster, Horlock, Juan, Magilton, McEveley, Naylor, Price, Proudlock, Richards, Sito, Supple, Westlake, Williams, Wilnis.

I hope he gets some playing time. I think its time to give our youngsters a chance, don't you. It can't hurt! And, what about a young defender to replace De(ad) Vos...any takers???

Id start him to be honhest. I cant see any harm in it.

Fingers crossed he will get a chance. If he does I expect him to impress.

Think Royle needs to give the youngsters a good blast - even if it only makes the more experienced players up their performance levels!!

I agree . I saw a very good post on TWTD (I think), whcih said that Joe should forget all about reaching the top 6 ...ie take the pressure off a bit. But just use this season for what it is - a transitional one ..and give the youngsters a chance to spread their wings a bit and gain experience.

There's a lot to be said for that ..so long as it doesnt work against the kids confidence ..and put us at (even more) risk of getting sucked into a relegation battle !
