He's looked superb whenever i've seen him play and he would be a MUCH better option than McAuley. Sadly though i think he will end up going to a lower Prem side and we will probably be priced out of the market too.

Disagree yes he is a solid strong center back but I would preferr to have both arrive at the cub I reli would.But if I had to choose one it would be McAuley without a doubt.IMO

Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1m is a seven figure bid. I think he is worth more than that based on what i have seen of him. I hope we go back in for him as he would be a great acquisition.

They've slapped a Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£3m price tag on him, but i don't think they really believe they will get that for him. We may have to go nearer to Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£2m with some add ons perhaps, but he is only 23 and was one of the best defenders in the Championship last season so i think he is worth it.

Yes so do I - but I suspect we will have a right battle to get him - as other clubs are after him. TBH any decent player is going to have a queue for hissginature ....and UP goes the price .! Good old demand & supply principles apply !

Hmm, do we ever research a players realistic value, or do we try about 15 smaller bids first everytime?

why the critisim ? Town have opened with a bid of Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1m.

The usual thing is for the buying club to get a player as cheaply as they can, whilst the selling club holds out for as much as they can . Add to that two or more buying clubs ...up goes the price !

I suspect had Town gone in with an immediate , what ? Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£2.5m offer people on here would have been accusiing the club of paying over the odds !

nice to hear we have started bidding for a player, cardiff are a selling club and most prob will have to sell him lets see where this story goes lets hope no prem clubs go in for him. dont know much about him how good is he?

At this point in time Cardiff have no need what so ever to sell, so they're going to drive a pretty hard bargain.

Great player, worth more than Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1mil in my opinion so im not surprised to see a bid for that amount turned down. Worth Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£3mil? No, but Cardiff have all the chips and i doubt they'll lower that price tag. Move on i say.

I was talking to someone who is closely connetd to the Club today - and this individual seems think Jim is definately trying to get Cardiff's Johnson here ........wait and see again then I guess !

But the prospect of McAuley & Johnson at CB is a solid looking defence IMHO !

we shall have to wait and see - we all know how rumours tend to run riot this time of year !

......I mean I expect we shall be told very soon that he's about to sign for Norwich !
