Many have talked about over the year Square pegs in round holes over the years at our club. Im of the opinion that these professional players should be able to use both feet to a pretty good standard AND be able to play in a similar position to their favourite ie centre defence left or right should´nt be the world of difference. I believe it could help players to become more comfortable on the ball and better at the technical side of the game which is something we English have always lacked
I have never played pro but for many schools, Clubs ,the RAF team when I served with them and my home town Letchworth a few times and never really understood the big deal we fans make of a little position change. Asking Smith or Parr to be our main striker or Bishop/Andersen as a CB has its obvious limitations but why should´nt a good player be able to play across the back line or midfield or from one wing to the other wing.
I know players have their stronger foot and thus their weaker foot but surely you could train this into them or make it such that the difference is´nt so noticeable and costly.I cant remember the last time we have a quailty right back ....maybe wrighty. Chambers should be able to do the job as should Parr in the midfield. I must be something Micks worked on with the lads...i dont think he makes it up as he goes along, well not all the time
thats why Im no manger

and MM and TC have done an amazing job on the whole imho.
its a horrible time to slip out of the top six but there is still a long way to go yet. We all knew march would be a hard month lets just back the boys up to the hilt and see where it takes us.
now go out and beat dirty Leeds

I agree with a lot of what you say and can also see the value in training players for a number of positions. I think supporters' frustrations are more down to the fact that there are other players who are more specialised in certain positions whose route into the first team seems to be blocked. Jonathan Parr/Luke Chambers is the obvious one, with Parr still not able to break into the team even on the back of some impressive performances and Chambers' place seemingly assured... Mick has hinted at some changes tonight so it will be interesting to see the line-up...

As much as I would be happy to see Parr in at RB etc etc I dont go a lot on this square pegs in round holes nonsense, nobody was commenting on it when we went 23 games with only one defeat. It is always going to be raised when we hit a sticky patch, that is what always happens, should we win tonight all will be forgotten again for a week or two but should we lose two in a row for the first time this season MM will have lost the plot blah blah blah.

I think you should change your screen name to 'Blue
mick'. I'm just joking.

Well something is wrong Mike, because we're now in 7th...outside of the playoffs. Indeed, we'll all be happy if we win tonight...but clearly we are dropping down the table at the moment. So perhaps, there are a few square pegs that need a touch of whittling?
