Well that should mean a green light for Evans then as we wouldn't spend anywhere near the amount that Derby have.

I think Bmth got fined around £7M, got promoted and have earned around £100M! But we'll stick to the moral high ground regarding FFP!

Looks like a Yorkshire play-off affair - barring minor miracles. Brighton - beset by suspensions and injuries - turned over last night by a strong and powerful Shef Wed side. Must admit based upon their showing against us, I thought Hull would be a cert for automatic promotion; whilst Brighton would have made the play off finals. Some shrewd acquisitions in Jan strengthened SW, and maybe gave them that extra quality lift.

Interestingly, apart from defeats home and away to Hull, we've not performed too shabbily against the rest who finished above us - notably Derby, M'boro and SW away - and all on around a £500K outlay!

Very true mostly without buying we did well against the top six, its the lesser teams home and away we struggle with.

I would have liked to see brighton make it but the smart money would be on Hull imho.
Derby used much much more than us and again they seem to choke when it matters most.

It just brings home to me even more that spending means nothing, lets face it someone has to go up but that doesn't mean spending is what gets them there. Anyway it's all good, looking forward to my favourite away game again next season, not to mention our customary Three points.

The winners of this game will face off against Sheffield Wednesday at the national stadium in a week or two. Brighton were well beaten over the two games in the end but feel deserve a return to the top level after an absence of 30 + years. They came within one goal of automatic promotion on the final round of games, and will have to wait another twelve months for another opportunity. Easy to berate the play-offs as a follower of this club side after a sequence of failures and disappointment, but if looking from an impartial standpoint, feel they could be abolished, and revert to the old way of the top three places having automatic promotion - and nothing more.

As for Derby County, they're a team that possess something of an illustrious history and frequenting their fan pages on past occasion, are a decent set of fans that unless threatened, aren't threatening. Would favor them to win the tournament outright but they've got too much to do in the second game and unfortunately look set to miss out.

1-0 Derby......, come on, another 2 for extra time. Or just 3 for the win.

Guess today's home team got too complacent after the first game.

Hope Derby County get the score they need to progress to the final and provide what would be, an extraordinary turnaround.

Funny old game. Just can't understand Derby County's meltdown on Saturday at all. For me, I thought they were the Premiership side of all 4 who've competed. Fair play to Hull but hopefully Wednesday flippin smash them.

Saw Hull games, home and away. On both days were far and away the best team I'd seen throughout the season. That said, Shef Wed - who invested well in Jan - are capable of beating them on the day. Makes for a tasty final a Wemberly!
