Top 4 Teams In League 1

Post by Shed on tour » Wed Apr 12, 2023 12:30 pm

Just shows how crazy the points total at the top of league 1 has been this season.
In their past 30 league matches Town, Wednesday, Plymouth and Barnsley have all acquired the same number of points, 61.
That is just above the 2 points a game average for all four clubs. When you think at least one and possibly two of these teams will miss out on promotion it seems unbelievable.

All 4 look on course to finishing with more than 90pts, 'though Barnsley have now made that hard for themselves with a couple of hiccups. But I can't imagine that happens in many 46 game leagues at professional level, if ever. It hasn't happened in the last 10 years in the Championship, League 1 or League 2, in fact I don't think 3 teams have managed it, let alone 4.

Yep I find it incredible that all 4 teams have maintained that run of form over virtually 2/3rds of a season. They have all had blips but as has been shown there is very little to choose between them during this period. Credit to all 4 teams for setting such a pace.

Imagine if SheffWed hadn’t had their recent dip in form……. They’d be looking at breaking records.
