Sad news, passed away in his apartment in Spain this morning, a mere 69 years of age. Condolences to his family.

Crazy.
RIP Trevor Francis.
Quite unbelievable and extremely coincidental. His goal, back post diving header v Malmo has been in my head for literally MONTHS!! Going to Malmo in a couple weeks for sons Wedding and spending time there. Only a few weeks ago I was YouTubing the goal for Scotty to see. His swedish wife to be didnt even know her home town was in a European Cup Final. Ive met the dad…… he’s not into football. Explains that.
FAR too young for Trevor Francis to pass. Its quite upsetting isn’t it.
Fantastic player and took the P out of Scotland on a few occasions.

I saw this on the bbc news feed earlier. Couldn’t believe. But I suppose at least it was quick, poor devil.

What a sad day this is, to lose such an outstanding footballer and person, I actually feel quite sick and upset finding this out, RIP Trevor. Gone way too soon and at such a young age.
Also, do not want to take away losing TF but George Alagiah (newsreader) has passed away too, turning out to be a crap day all in all.
RIP George
My condolences to all their family & friends.

That's a damn shame, you'd have to be of a certain age to appreciate or recognize his playing career but surprise and some dismay to learn of this news. Kind of disappeared off scene as a player in the 1980's until start of a managerial career but certainly provided some pivotal moments. Condolences to the family.
Will always carry the label of first 1 million player. Didn't think back then fools would be paying out 100 - 150 times that just four decades on. To score a winning goal in a European Final is an honor bestowed on the few and fortunate. Sorry to learn of the Bart-Williams news item also.
