It makes very comfortable reading for me Liz. I really dislike Leicester City and most of its fans apart from my nephew and a few close mates. I think their problems pretty much tipify the problems that face teams relegated from the EPL. Hopefully we can still avoid being another relegation club statistic.

Their issue was slightly different in that they had a model of sinmgning young players for good money and selling them for huge money, this worked really well but the issue was they gave them huge contracts to stop them leaving too early.

This is fine until you make a few mistakes and then end up stuck with players on big money who you can’t get rid of.
They relied on selling one big asset per season to fund it.

There’s a v good video from the athletic on this

I have a soft spot for Nottingham Forest as I used to go to most of their home games when we lived there. Lorraine’s employer were their sponsors and she was the relationship manager which meant we had tickets for every game and got to know many of the players. In many ways the club is very similar to Ipswich and their fans are great.
I had regular use of a box at Leicester City and knew a number of their players too but if never felt the same. In fact my seniors golf partner was an ex Leicester City legend but there’s something about the club I’ve never felt comfortable with and I think the reason is their fans. They are so disloyal and turn on the players in a heartbeat, boo for the simplest of reasons and when it’s not going well always want the manager sacked.
In short I just don’t like them and every time I watch them I just want them to lose.

I think maybe Shed on Tour feels differently after an unsavoury visit there.

But....., a huge rule in the soccer with regards to "fans" --->> mustn't tar all with the same stick.

Got to admit, If Ipswich had not won that '78 FA Cup while I was in London, would have been a Forest fan for sure after that '79 European Cup Final. Seeing McGovern lift that trophy was iconic. And of course Trevor at the back post. Superb!
